I will be just as disappointed to see a first round exit in the playoffs, than if we lose in the second round. I just wanna get to the promised land.

My predictions

1. We will find out if Matt Ryan is the real deal or if Mularkey's training wheels were holding him back.

2. Even healthy Ray Ray Edwards isn't gonna be of much use.

3. Julio Jones makes the pro bowl.

4. We narrowly make the playoffs.

5. If we have another one and done Mike Smith is gone, and TD will be on the hot seat or possibly following right behind him. Probably the same if we have a bad season,

Turner will get fat whether it's funny or not. I'll rather he get fat on someone else's roster!

If the Falcons can get somebody better I have no problem at all with it. I'm afraid to predict on that at this point, too many things can happen, I mean I've heard speculation the Falcons might draft an RB. Speculation by fans mostly but still speculation.

I'm hoping Turner comes back with a vengence with the new OC and offensive scheme, I guess it all remains to be seen at this point.

One thing about it though, I will say this, I don't like the idea of having any players on a play call count, to me that just leads to predictable play calling when they are put in the game. JMO.....

Playing it safe I see, although I agree on every prediction 100% so I guess I am also.

I will go out on a limb so to speak though and predict the Falcons address the O-line in the draft with their first pick. Hmmmm, maybe I'm playing it safe with that prediction?

We shall see.....

I actually think the Falcons will take a step back this year. First year under new systems on the first side of the ball, couple that with player turnover and a limited draft. If the Falcons somehow do make the playoffs I think they'll be one and done again. Mike Smith won't be fired but he will have to produce in 2013 or he will be shown the door. We'll have a full draft in 2013 and our players will be familiar with the system then. Now if we can't win a playoff game in 2013 then something I don't know what to say.

I could be wrong but that's just how I see it.

It's still a wait and see thing, I dunno, you dunno. Thank you for taking the time to predict your thoughts here.

I'm a Homer, A Falcons Fan for life, but the facts are what they are, and they will be what they will be.

I think the Falcons will "FLY" in 2012, none of that RISE UP BS! Falcons need to "FLY"! , In my youth I would have said "Fly H IGH", but not now.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Fly High" should be our slogan for 2012!

Had that feeling too, secretly. I'm just ignoring it in my mind because I really don't want it to happen. I've enjoyed these last 4 years.

LOL! There's no way Roddy goes anywhere. Some might say that a lot of his drops had to do with timing routes that were disrupted because of the O-lines inability to protect Matt Ryan long enough to complete the play. Other's will say "Such as myself" that the OC was the problem.

I really don't think Roddy is going anywhere, I mean why would you trade so much to get more explosive in 2011 in the passing game and the very next year get rid of the previous years most explosive WR? Doesn't make sense to me. Just my opinion though.

Yea, this crossed my mind after we made the hires. I also factored in the 2012 draft and FA we have and everything that this will mean for our team. It is not far-fetched to think what you think Mama. I actually feel it is realistic and even likely. However, I hope we both are wrong.

You nailed it! Yep! That "RISE UP" stuff is all about rising up, NOT WINNING! When you "FLY HIGH" you are on top!

Yes Sir! You got that right IMO!

WOW! I have nothing but respect for your post, more times than not you have been right and I have bee wrong.

This post, your post go me to thinking about the past and the present. We get used to the things that you are talking about here. "Why should this new season be different? Ya know?

You might be right about that, time will tell. I doubt Mike Smith will be fired if the Falcons don't even make the playoffs this coming season. I've never blamed Mike Smith for the Falcons failures either way in the last few years. Mike Smith took the Job NOBODY wanted at the time given the time he took the job and circumstances. But then again it could be argued he took a can't lose job. I dunno.........

I'm not going to try and convince anyone of anything but I feel strongly that the Falcons have had the players on offense and defense to win it all but have lacked in the area of play calls with the coaching staff.

I've been saying it for 2 years now that the OC/DC were the problem with the Falcons with the play calling and schemes on defense, I"m not going to try and hide it. So I will say this : "I I believe if these new coaches are as good as they have been spoken about by Falcons fans and around the league then the Falcons should not only go to the playoffs but advance, and probably win a superbowl in the next 3 years.

LOL, I know that's a cop out, I guess it'a a wait and see thing. But it is a prediction. We shall see.....

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1) Agree

#2)Agreed He is just a big tub of goo!

#3)so you are sayin get rid of our best cover CB and replace him with who? Burn me all day Franks? Brees would love to hear that!

#4)The Burner has digressed into just an average RB. You could find his replacement easily in this draft. RBs are not a big priority these days. You can find a RB with more speed just as big and much better hands. Trade him for a 3rd round pick(might even get a 3rd and say a 5th) Thats not dismantling the O just getting it better.

#5)Lets hope and pray

Draft

2nd round

Chris Polk*, RB, Washington

Height: 5-11. Weight: 224.

Projected 40 Time: 4.46.

Arm: 30 7/8. Hand: 9 3/4.

Polk, who had a strong 2011 season, runs with good vision, cutting ability and hits the hole quickly. He runs behind his pads and can power through defenders. Washington has had a subpar offensive line, and if Polk had better blocking, he could have even better numbers. The benefit to that line is the 5-foot-11, 222-pounder is a very patient runner who knows how to put defenders on blockers. This year, Polk ran for 1,488 yards (5.1 average) and 12 touchdowns. He also snagged 31 passes for 332 yards and four scores. Polk ran well against Stanford, one of the best defenses in the Pac-12. He had 144 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns versus the Cardinal.

3rd round

Ryan Miller, G, Colorado

Height: 6-8. Weight: 310.

Projected 40 Time: 5.25.

Miller had a strong senior season with some impressive games. He showed the ability to be a forceful run blocker. Miller is a very good athlete and has excellent quickness to fire out of his stance to get to the second level. He anchors well in the pass rush and has the mobility to slide with defenders. Miller has the skill set to get some consideration at right tackle. He had an impressive game against Washington.

3rd round

Philip Blake, C, Baylor

Height: 6-2. Weight: 312.

Projected 40 Time: 5.58.

Arm: 31 7/8. Hand: 9 3/4.

Throughout 2011, Blake was an excellent pass protector for Robert Griffin III, and opened up holes in the ground game for running back Terrance Ganaway. Blake is a good athlete for his size. He has the strength to push tackles aside and surprising quickness to hit blocks on linebackers. For the past two years, Blake has been the starter at center, having begun his collegiate career at tackle. To close out 2011, he had a lot of success going against Washington Huskies defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu in the Alamo Bowl. The Baylor Bears were able to have a massive game on the ground to the tune of 482 yards. In the NFL, Blake would probably fit best in a power man blocking scheme.

5th round

George Bryan, TE, N.C. State

Height: 6-5. Weight: 265.

Projected 40 Time: 4.77.

Bryan had 33 receptions for 331 yards and four touchdowns in 2011. He was a good blocker this year and could be one of the better blocking tight ends in this draft class. Bryan showed some receiving skills in the East-West Shrine workouts and that helped his stock.

6th and 7th rounds

Draft for special teams needs

Not sure we trade Turner--wouldn't be against it if he doesn't restructure and agree with a reduced role. But I definitely think we get a more versatile back in draft and Polk would be a great choice. I don't think the OLine is as horrid as people think. I honestly think Turner is a liability against good to great teams. Look at his numbers against weak defenses. They are huge! Look at them against elite teams--they suck. The problem is his lack of versatility. He's not a threat in the receiving game. So basically teams can dedicate extra LBs to stop the run and drop back in coverage. Get a guy like Polk in and run some screens and short routes with him and watch those defenses get thrown off balance. The Giants and Saints are both great examples of how effective pass catching rbs are. Turner late in a game, or goal line is a great luxury to have.

If we play consistant and be able to adjust after half time, stop giving teams a chance to come back (put teams away when we are up by 10 or more, i honestly see us going 11-5 maybe 12-4 and a second div title in 3 years as far as the playoff go read the begining of my statement

If Turner is going to have a reduced role why not get something for him? Polk can do every thing he can and then some. We could pick up another draft pick and free up cap room to sign our free agents or some other free agents
