White Caught Up In Baby Daddy Drama

Atlanta Falcons stud wide receiver Roddy White is stepping up to the plate in his paternity case and admitting he IS the father of a 5-month-old baby boy -- but there's a catch ... TMZ has learned.

White filed legal documents in Georgia earlier this month ... acknowledging he DID father a child with a Georgia banker named Stacey Hott ... and he's willing to accept responsibility.

But according to the docs, White isn't ready to fork over child support just yet -- despite Hott's claim that he's capable of providing a "generous" amount due to his massive NFL salary.

Unless the two can strike a settlement quickly, a judge will get to decide Roddy'spayments.

Calls to Roddy's people have not been returned.

I'm not sure how that's manning up. He said it's his but he's not ready to pay child support? Wtf is that? Manning up is taken care of your kids. That's more important than buying the cars, mansion, or whatever else.

Maybe it's just the way it's worded but this lowers my opinion of him. He always seems like he has his head on straight staying out of trouble and playing hard. But to me it sounds like he's saying he's not ready to take care of his responsibilities. I'm sure the woman is going after a lot of money and I could see a situation where he wants a judge to say how much he needs to give. So it could just be the wording. He should be saying he's ready to pay support, but he needs to know how much that is.

I'm not throwing Roddy under the bus because I don't know all of the details. But his kid should be his top priority.
