I'll understand and will dance at your funeral.

ESPN is reporting that the Bucs have hired Greg Schiano....Rutgers HC, as the new Bucs HC.

O.K. it's time to bust a gut, but don't anyone hurt themselves..................

It's just gets more embarrising here in Tampa........

I just saw that , and was going to start a thread.

I can't believe that TB is going with a college guy. A team that young needs an NFL vet coach - with at least some level of pro experience. The Glaziers just won't open their wallet(s). Sad for TB fans............

Maybe with the Bucs being so young they might respond better to him...

Compared to the guys they've interviewed, I think Schiano may be the best move.

Nobody's gonna be running out to buy season tickets, That's for sure. But, if this guy can keep this crew motivated and Dom does his job we may be able to win more than 4 games next season!dry.png

I've seen some people comparing the Rutgers program when Schiano took over to the '76 BUCS.

He turned them around, and is pretty highly thought of by some. I'm more than willing to give the guy a chance. Have I got wood about this hire? No! (Viagra not withstanding) But, would you rather have Sherman? Childress? The ONLY other coach they interviewed that I know of that would have gotten me excited was Mike Zimmer and the fact that he's been coaching the Bengals defense takes a bit of the luster off him. Anyone that coached under Marv Lewis is questionable as to their gender. Marv Lewis is the BIGGEST little girl in the NFL!

I dunno. The Petrino hire did wonders for the Falcons!

After he was gone we went from horrible to slightly above average over night!

Of course, you have to hope your coach quits before the end of the year, but it is totally worth it!

will Freeman have to get busted for running an illegal gambling operation across state lines as well?

I'm just curious as to his coordinators are going to be. You folks go ahead and knock the move, I'm gonna take a wait & see attitude. I've seen what can happen when you get too high or too down on a coach. Morris burned us BUC fans BIG TIME! I'll never get too high on a coach again...until he's hoisting the Lombardi Trophy!

I see Schiano as a MUCH better hire than Chip Kelly and at least we didn't go with Sherman!

Schiano’s ability to motivate and discipline his players extended beyond the football field. While producing victories at a rate unprecedented in the program’s history, the Rutgers football team also committed fully to succeeding in the classroom. In 2010, Rutgers’ football program ranked first in the nation in Academic Progress Rate; in 2011, the team followed up with the nation’s number-two ranking.

Evidently he's a bit brighter than Rah.
