Don't Expect Spagnuolo

Reports came out that Falcons were targeting Spags and Nolan but then about a day later the same report came out that NO was targeting the same people. Falcons hired Nolan almost immediately and did not interview Spags. Nevertheless, i'm very happy with the hire because I thought Smith was going to bring in Jack Del Rio. The Falcons went from having two incompent coordinators to having one one ( Dirk is still an unknown).

Yea neither one of our teams wanted JDR lol. I have to say (all homerism aside). Both of our teams got the cream of the crop for DC's out there. Although i don't know what y'all were thinking bringing in Dirk Koetter.

I haven't heard or read about any coach fighting to go to either New Orleans or Atlanta. This season has seen many a coach fired; I didn't read or hear anything where these coaches were rushing to come to Atlanta or N.O.

Your kidding right? With the offense the Saints have it is a Defensive Coordinators Dream, it takes very little for a DC to succeed. Especially a DC like spags with his exotic blitz schemes and what knot! An explosive high powered offense opens up the playbook for a DC allowing him to throw the kitchen sink at offenses. (which is what GW did during his tenure, the only problem is he always threw the kitchen sink at the wrong times)

I am willing to bet Spags is beside himself about this job. We were going to get the best of the best and thats what we got. I'm excited.

Don't know if you've seen this vid but it's pretty funny. Even Hitler is angry over the signing of Koetter. laugh.png

"Let's go win a Super Bowl."

-- Steve Spagnuolo's first words to New Orleans coach Sean Payton, before "Hello'' or "Hi Sean, this is Steve,'' when Spagnuolo called Payton Thursday afternoon to tell him he was taking the Saints defensive coordinator position.

Reading that made me feel gooey inside! I'm very happy Spags came here.

hey no problems here...I was just seeking clarification for some of the RC members who don't get out much

I don't blame em'. Who would want to get out much if they lived in New Orleans?

No i can. It's typical for a Falcons fan to make a Katrina joke. That's all they got on New Orleans.

Other than that. New Orleans>Atlanta. In everything, especially sports.

no man...most Falcons fans in here think that is classless. Don't lump them all in with him
