it's really amazing how fast someone's health deteriorates when they stop doing something they loved their whole life. i have seen people who retire and are miserable because they are no longer working and they pass quickly after that.

That is really amazing. I doubt all the drama surrounding his whole late life situation did not help at all with his medical issues

After Coach Bryant retired, they asked him what he planned to do and he said "probably croak in a week." Four weeks after coaching his last game, on January 26, 1983, he passed away. Paterno referenced Coach Bryant's passing several times when asked why he was still coaching after all those years.

It's amazing how quickly people's health deteriorates regardless. My grandmother at 97 was diagnosed with leukemia and died 3 months later.

As despicable as his actions, or lack thereof, involving Sandusky were, the man still did some great things in his life, football aside. I hope the end comes painless for him, and quickly.

My grandparents both lived to be in their 90s in relatively excellent health. My grandfather had a stroke at 94 and not soon after passed. My grandmother, who up until then, had been in good health went downhil fast. After just a few months, she passed as well.

my grandfather loved being an officer and then worked for fulton country courthouse. he just loved his job and he fought retirement unless he had to retire from that. he was soo unhappy and shortly after his health declined and he had a strong. we had dinner with him and grandma 3 weeks after he retired and i turned to my mom and said he was so unhappy i really didn't expect him to live much longer. well 2 weeks later he had a stroke and it was very tough after that.
