Falconjerome
I live in VA and do not get to attend the games as often as i would like to but, I would like for them to be an Outdoor team as well. When i do go there it feels like the Hampton coliseum when there is a concert or something. Never really got the feeling of a football game environment like you see at the GB, Steelers, Pats, etc... games. Seemed more like arena sporting event IMO. Plus, we play bad in the uncontroled elements more so than in a dome type environment!!!
Falconjerome
i have been a fan since the early 80's. i have seen horrible, bad, better, sucky and no good and i am loving it even though we have not won a playoff game YET!!!!
Mega Flare
Well it's like taking a really rich person and turn him poor.
Mega Flare
We are the pampered primaddonas of NFL fanbases and there's nothing big enough or important enough to unite this city. It's a cultural thing more than anything. We have no culture.
saintmtillage
When I was at the Saints game in NO, I was jealous of their fans. Every fan there is into it and loud. I hope winning a Superbowl will make our fans like theirs. It is crazy in the dome. Its a great atmosphere. Kinda like a college gameThe problem is that you never seen these Saints fans until after they started having winning seasons. Unlike us, with winning seasons after seasons, we are still having a problem trying to fill seats up. Most of our fans came from Vick and I say I am proud I was a fan way before that.I will say that I'm shocked it took this many pages before this was brought up. Anyway back on topic. I think the atmosphere in an outdoor stadium would be much better in atlanta. Truth is if you love the birds (why I dont know) you will watch them anywhere. As someone that visits the ga dome every year I feel like the ga dome is not consistent. The atmosphere in the dome is contingent upon the opponent. Of course you guys are always up for the saints so i always feel like its cool then, but I have been to other games where it was like a church. Just my 2 cents
slewis1952
No, football is not about sitting outside in the elements. It is about paying $100 or more per ticket and being comfortable. If outside is so great, why didn't drive-in movies outlast conventional theaters? Think about it!!
Big_D
At $100 a pop for my seat on the 20 yd line, I want comfort. If an open air stadium is on the table wait till we see if the Falcons get much better at playing so we can fill a 100,000 seat stadium. Until then relax and cut a hole in our existing cloth roof to see how well it goes over with fans. If it isn't popular you just stitch the missing piece back in place. See how easy the solution is. :-):-)

Billy Pilgrim
This talk of "comfort" is for women. Who sits down at a football game anyway? They could take the seats out of the Dome and it wouldn't bother me a lick.

Next season you need to sit your drunk azz down.
Billy Pilgrim
So you are the jackazz that stands in front of me during the entire game and not just during exciting plays and kick offs. Next season you need to sit your drunk azz down.I'm not standing because I'm drunk, I'm standing because I'm at a professional football game. You'd fit in really well up in Charlotte with the Panthers fans. They tell you to keep it down when you're cheering and to sit down when you're standing. They have a designated "standing time" just like you suggest, on things like kickoffs and punts, and then you're required to sit back down within 12 seconds. The rest of the time they sit down and sip tea out of tiny cups and eat crumpets while reading Charles Dickens.Or, you could just stay at home so I don't block your view. That way you can enjoy the game from the comfort of your couch and the warmth of your leopard-print Snuggie. You can even flip over to Lifetime and watch your stories during commercial breaks and enjoy HSN during halftime. Everyone wins.
