red2play
Hasselbeck on ESPN first take pretty much said that Matt Ryan is no elite Qb, not even close and used Eli Manning reference to state it. He stated it directly and didn't even flinch, he was telling Jay Crawford and Skip Bayless how important and good Eli Manning is and stated that if he were the Qb for the Falcons, we would STILL be playing. In other words, we would be able to beat not only the Giants but the Packers as well.

DonDaLuvMaker
I would not be shocked if this thread goes over 10 pages.

Faithful Falcon
I don't know who's worst, him or his wife. If Eli was playing for the Falcons, then he would be with his brother. On IR..
Guest TheIdowu
Tim Hasslebeck is the brother of Titans QB Matt Hasslebeck. Get ready for an influx of Falcons faithful making this thread 10 pages long as stated earlier. He may have a valid point, though. You never know. k-train
Much like Dilfer, Timmy knows a terrible QB when he sees one, because he's spent every morning of his life looking at one in the mirror.

falconsd56
And if Ryan had Gilbright(sp) or any OC with a sack he would have a first round bye

RHEC
Last time I checked, Matt Ryan > Tim Hasslebeck.
Steel City Falcon
Eli was so terrible his first 5 years in the NFL. Granted he was great this year but he threw like 25 picks last year... All the analyst and talking heads live in the now. They act like the guy has been playing lights out since he was a rookie. Yeah Eli probably would have played better if put in the situation Ryan was in. But that's just because his experience in those kind of games. Steel City Falcon
Last time I checked, Matt Ryan > Tim Hasslebeck. That's why his a$$ is sitting in front of camera instead of playing the game.
Steel City Falcon
Last time I checked, Matt Ryan > Tim Hasslebeck. And he's probably just bitter because the Falcons tore his brother up.
Darkflight
Maybe he's just saying that Eli would do a better job behind an average o-line because of his ability to make things happen when protection breaks down. Which would be true.

DonDaLuvMaker
I don't think that Tim Hasselbeck was trying to trash Ryan. I think that we was just trying to say how well Eli has been playing recently.Based on how the 49ers D played against Brees, I would not be surprised if we see bad Eli in the NFC championship game. Bawse
Eli has the highest QB Rating in the playoffs in recent years for a reason, he's clutch when it matters. At this point, I agree with Tim.
tobyd77
I'm glad he is saying this and I hope that Koetter the new OC heard it because he needs to know how important it is to get Ryan to make us all eat shirts cause I will admit I have had my doubts about him after this last playoff game. I don't care what Tim has to say but I'm glad for Eli who they were slaming before the season started but leave it up to him to jump the band wagon when they hot. Herr Beast
I watch nearly every Giants game and Eli is still very underrated. He is in my opinion the 4th best QB in the league (behind Brady, Rodgers and Brees) and yeah I just said he is better than his brother because Eli is the better player in crunsh time. Eli is very very good keeping plays alive and making his best throws under heavy pressure. He also has one of the best deep balls in the league.
