Falcon918
I believe Nolan is the better choice because he runs a hybrid 4-3/3-4 defense and has done well with both!Spags on the other hand is very aggressive and came up with a plan of attack to slow the Patriots!Nolan experience with top defenses year after year!Spags not much else! See for your self!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Spagnuolohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_NolanWe have the better of the two IMO! Lets Go Falcons! kane#7
Nolan.... because 1 I do think he is better.... and 2 I will never admit the Saints have got something better than us. Edited January 20, 2012 by kane#
Falcon918
Based of resume I can honestly say we have the better DC! I am excited to see what we look like next year!
norbendon
Nolan, because his track record speaks for itself and he's run the 4-3 7 of his years and the 3-4 7 of his years and seems to be a fan of the hybrid as well. Just seems like his style is geared towards maximizing what he has which is the right formula for us. In my opinion, the jury is out on Spags. He only has 2 years of actual DC coordinator experience and it was with one of the most gifted d-lines in history.
ATLBrave
Spags is a good coach, but I'll take 25 years of NFL experience and a proven track record of success just about everywhere (as a position coach/coordinator) all day, every day. I Even Bleed Red
I voted Nolan. To be honest, I think Spags and his D fits well with Brees and his O. I think Nolan is a great fit for us.I would like to read what you guys have to say about this. Spags in NO > Nolan in ATL? Or Nolan in ATL > Spags in NO? And why? Falcon918
The Giants defense was not that good in 2007 with Spags as the DC
Hustle Up
Either one would have been fine with me. Both are extremely talented at what they do. I'll take Nolan cause he's our guy and I have no doubt the defense will be very good, especially on third downs.

NJDirtyBird7
Spags doesnt have near the resume that Nolan has. It can be argued he won the superbowl, but his D Line (Strahan and Umenyiora) and Eli Manning won that hands down. Spags would call blitzes and they would be executed to perfection with his pro bowl defensive line. Looking back at that old Giants team, it is scary how similar this years giants team looks compared to their superbowl year a few years back. fansince78
Just think it's odd the Saints and Rams played wife swap with DC's...Are they trying to copy what the Jags and Falcons did with OCs?

NJDirtyBird7
Don't forget about Tuck and Kiwanukabelieve me I didn't, I just named their 2 best that year. That whole line was rediculous. I believe it was that year when they played the falcons and jus destroyed vick with sacks.

Pa_Falcon_Fan
I agree that their whole line was ridiculous that season, Osi, Tuck, and Strahan all had 9+ sacks each.I think the most interesting note is, with the exception of a bad 2009 season under Bill Sheridan and the departure of Strahan that line hasn't really fallen off. That is talent rather than superior scheme.Osi has 20.5 sacks the last two years and Tuck has 15.5. That is 36 sacks between the two of them over the last two years. DonDaLuvMaker
I would like to know why you voted for Spags? Just wondering!I voted Nolan because of his experience of having some pretty good defenses and the only reason why Spags is even the hot commodity was because of the 2007 Giants which was stack with talent such as Tuck(10 sacks), Strahan(9 sacks), Osi(13 sacks), and Kiwinuka(4.5 sacks but was a very productive pass rusher). theonenotthe2
I expect Falcons fans to say Nolan just as I expect Saints fans to say Spags. Personally, I think they are both great. But what does amaze me is how some Falcons fans point to the 49'ners as a defense that Nolan started to build before his departure. But then when it comes to Spags, some of you do not want to credit him as building the scheme that Perry Fewell has kept in place. I know, I know, you're not supposed to be logical if it means giving the Saints even a soupcon of credit.
