beantownfalc2
Haha. The Falcons doesn't get any love from the media! My wife used to work for ESPN. They dont report on things that dont move the meter. There isn't any one player in the city of ATLANTA that is a hot button issue nationally. The NY teams, Dallas, Saints (post Katrina), GB, Pats, Ravens, Colts, and a handful of others always dominate the coverage because the metrics dictate that there is interest outside of their markets. Not many people care about the Falcons outside of Atlanta
PapaJoe
Well that's understandable, considering the seed that started it.And you are a puss who makes 'actual' personal insults on a football MB instead of recognizing the humor and simple difference of opinion on perception. It's all good man. Nothing personal. This IS a message board where trash talking happens. Edited January 20, 2012 by cdrw
Falcon Fanatic
Well at least we got the second best candidate for DC just like we were second place in our division as far as records go this season. Be proud fellow Falcons fans there's a lot to be said about being second best... on second thought (pun intended) no there's not a lot to be said. FalconsManhood
Payton 1 ups Smith again! Meanwhile we bring in a DC that excels in the 3-4 and ask him to run a 4-3.Funny how some Falcons fans want to say Spags is overrated now that he is a Saint, saying he never did anything really.Funny how they can point to the Rams and say he's an overrated coach even though his defense lead the giants to the superbowl, but the fact they our new OC ran the worst offense in 2012 is just some type of fluke to them due to personel. If that isn't blind homerism then I don't know what is
QBGuru
Nolan has been around for a long time - I would have preferred Spags but I don't think we get hurt with Nolan. The phins didn't have many playmakers on their defense yet at the end of the season they were playing well.Strong addition.
N.O.L.A BOI
Wow, perception is something. I don't say this trying to take a shot by any means but outside of the Jets, Giants, Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys & Steelers I can't think of any teams that get more media attention than you guys. The thing is New Orleans isn't even as big a media market as the other teams listed. I will say that they've definitely seemed to cut down on all the Katrina talk but I think you guys get plenty of press. We are a very good team! We score alott of points Witch make for good TV and we've won two NFCSC and a superbowl also had two 13 win seasons in the last 4 yrs. We also have been a playoff team and superbowl contender each yr for the last 4 yrs. It's something to talk about! Make that 3 NFCS champs since 06 Edited January 20, 2012 by N.O.L.A BOI
N.O.L.A BOI
Agree completely... with risk of alienating myself among the "party faithful" amongst us on this board. The "Katrina Bowl" this and that quibbling you hear from some on these message boards is classless and rooted in a sore loser ethic. Undoubtedly, it's an irritating talking point for Network bozos when they commentate games...as is the Ryan is a rookie transcending the dark shadow of Vick tripe. I don't care about media attention...it's like vainly currying for favor with the popular, rich kid set in high school. We're not going to ever win them over. So the secret is just quietly winning year after year after year. This pining whiny forlorn stepchild act is old and weak.Thank you fine sir! And I camend you for speaking the truth. Well done! While I don't want the falcons to ever win a superbowl I do love our rivalry so much more when both teams are good and relevant! Who wants to beat a 8-8 falcon team I like the 10 and 6 teams better for war! And the crying of refs cheating because of a hurricane just makes me feel like I beat my Lil bro and he can't take it so he makes an excuse to tell the fam! So lame, and shameful that we've come to expect it these days from you guys. Not all but most of you lol. RHEC
Why do people keep saying that? The undesirables from New Orleans came here after Katrina and never went home. That is a natural disaster with lasting impact.Media loves sympathy teams.

I'll clue you in - does the number 7 mean anything to you, FMH? It's the number of years Nolan's run a 3-4. Or a 4-3. One of the two. Or maybe even BOTH. FalconOdense
I actually think this is okay. The Saints D line wont be able to generate pressure as the line in NY. Will Smith is done, Sedrick Ellis has not progressed in a year and this Jordan kid has terrible pass rush skills.... What has he done besides generate pressure with Osi, Strahan and Tuck... Even my mum could do that... So I don't think his skills translate well to the Saints D. That is why I didn't wanted Spags to begin with, because it is the same problem in Atlanta... New Orleans got a name - that is all...
