THE ICEMAN Posted January 18, 2012 Share Posted January 18, 2012 If you've watched Wade Phillips defense's he plays something very simular to a hybird 4-3 but he plays it in a 3-4 set with two rush linebackers and droping one of them very little just for show and a lot of press man to man. I think we may run something very similar to that or either a 4-3 with heavy blitizing and a lot of press man to man eitherway its the same thing you can just create more confusion with formation and the OL not knowing who coming from where in a 3-4 set. Yes press man and blitzing, but a bigger front and more confusion. I think Phillips 3-4 is more assignment and get to your spot, simplify it for the D so they can play faster. He played with Nolan the last 2 years and will be a FA. Sidbury and Biermann are more suited to rush standing up in my opinion. But I do think we need at least 1 more pass rusher, one that can rush from both positions. Our DTs (Peters/Jerry) could play DEs. Peters especially is stout at the point.
