Falconsfan567
People always say that great OL's are built by getting a stud OT to protect the QB's blindside. But I disagree. I think great OL's are built by getting a stud center and building outward from there. Look at all the great teams of the decades past and they all have stud centers. Herr Doktor
I agree. He's the glue of the line. He makes the line calls and leads.
madman88
Look at all the great o-limen all the way to todays nfl.. all good lineman has a "franchiseLT" LT is more important to an offensive line... if he is very good he can go one on one with the beat pass rusher and that allows your GUards to help bottle the rest of the rushers up... Thats why the tackles get paid the big bucks, paying a guard like evans and kicks are a waste of money in my opinion...
Rai
LT, OC, LG, RT, RG should be the priority order, imo.

FalconsManhood
We need to sign a LT in Free Agency and draft the best C or RG in the draft, if RG is a problem again we move Clabo inside and start the giant @ RT

No team no matter how good the QB is can succeed when the QB is got guys in his face right up the middle. Look at what the 49ers did to Drew Brees. Look at what the Giants did to Aaron Rodgers. Both the Saints and Packers lost do in large part to the defense getting in their face right up the middle. The Falcons have had a great edge rusher in Abraham for years and usually a decent edge rusher on the otherside up never any pressure up the middle and it allowed QBs to just step up in the pocket when the edge guys got close and pick us apart. Look at the games that our D played well in. It was in those very few games that we got pressure up the middle and forced the QB out of the pocket to the outside towards the edge guys. The reason the Falcons could never beat the elite defenses is because McClure and the guards always got pushed back into Matt's face and Matt couldn't get out of his own way.
