RHEC
Saints need to resign Brees or that franchise will be back in the gutter and they know it.
The Martyr
Was this his last year? Typically teams resign before it gets so late
vel
Yes Brees is a FA. No Brees isn't going anywhere
shaudyshaudback
We have no shot at Brees
The Martyr
Yeah, NO letting go of Brees would be one of the most idiotic things to ever go down in the NFL.
Bawse
Brees is going nowhere. But nothing would make me happier to see him leave the Aints, though.
iDash
I would sign him and then make him clean the Toilets in the Stadium, or something!
fansince78
Brees will be staying in New Orleans, but he will help us a great deal in the process. This guy deserves and will get BIG money and that will tie the hands of the team as far as keeping some of their free agents and acquiring others. 4dabirds
Brees is The Saint of Saints. He'll get a huge contract and deservedly so. It'll be interesting to see how long they sign him for. I'm thinking he gets a 6 year 120 million dollar contract.
paulitik
99% sure Brees will be back, but Benson was really desperate to get the Ain'ts out of NOLA prior to Katrina. Maybe this is like the Tebow situation. Benson is cringing at the success.Wishful thinking.(this post was made in jest, don't get your panties in a wad)
B_Lo_Touchdowns
Brees isn't going anywhere only reason he hasn't been signed yet is because the saints can't afford to pay him what he's asking. They tried to get a deal done last year but Reggie Bush wouldn't take a big enough paycut. So they ex-ed him brought in Sproales around $12 mil cheaper then what Reggie wanted and sold the rights of the Super Dome to Mercerdez Benz to try to help raise the money but still feel short. With Brees breaking Marino's passing yard record look for Drew to sign one of the biggest contracts this off season, followed by a ton of players getting the axe mostly on defense cause honestly Saints have one of the worst D-Lines in the league, and they will get the blame for the lost to the 49ers. Sucks for them cause Brees last good year was this year. But If I was GM..................NO I would not sign Drew Brees. he wants $80-$100 mil. and he's about 35. He knows he's almost at the end of his career and just wants that big pay day he's never had. After Vick signed his new deal, it's was rumored Brees felt he deserves that type of money cause he's the better QB.
Francis York Morgan
I'd lol if they gave him 110 mil or so over 5-6 years, we could pounce on Carl Nicks because they wouldn't be able to afford him...and yeah, if they're stupid enough not to resign him, they'll be a 6-7 win team once again. Possibly worse. Without him and GW, they're way worse than us and the Panthers.

FlyDirty
Brees will get paid and they'll pay him. I wouldnt be entirely shocked if he gives them a hometown discount, but it will still be quite the pay out. That may ultimately be the cloud to silver lining with Brees being elite. You have to fork out major money to elite future HOF QBs. I do see their window closing on nabbing another Super Bowl. Resources are finite. They'll also have to put money into Colston and Nicks. Tallahassee
Saints are in a bad spot, IMHO. If they pay Brees the kind of contract we're expecting him to demand, they aren't going to be able to afford the players around him. If they let him walk, they are back to wearing bags. I look for a slow and steady decline from them as they lose players, and Brees gets older....
stumpjumper
Brees and everyone else's contract coming up at the same time does nothing but help us out.
dilkin
Brees and Payton are "very close", they willr esign him.
