Snowen
Look, I think all of us can agree, ANYTHING is better than Mularkey. So for that reason, even though im not a huge fan of the hire, I am excited to get an OC who isn't braindead. We should instantly be better than this year. And even after reading about Koetter a bit, he sounds like a decent coordinator. Its unfortunate that talk is cheap until the season arrives; he sure says all the right things we want to hear but who knows if hes BSing us just like MS, TD and Blank did the past few years. But the REAL reason why most of us are upset with this hire, is solely that its MORE Jaguars leftovers.. Back before Smith came here, I was one of the biggest Jaguar fans out there; the Jags were my 2nd fav team after the Falcons; the team I rooted for every season to get to the Superbowl in the AFC against us. I was a huge fan of Leftwich, Smith's defense and even Del Rio.. - but after all the co-mingling we have done in the past 5 years with them; everything dissapointing from Leftwich's time here to Smith's poor calls to BVG's ineptness (the biggest issue) - im seriously SICK of the jaguars.Really.. How much more Jaguars cr$^p can we assimilate? It always ends up the same; disappointing. Its not even the 32nd ranked Offense that bothers me, its just the fact that its another guy who Smith hired because he is "buddy-buddy" with him, and its another situation where if the Offense isnt performing well, Smith is not going to discipline him solely because its his friend. Happened with BVG, going to happen with Koetter now.So Koetter better work out, because if he doesnt, I hope TD and Blank realize its Mike Smith's problem, not the coordinators. Smith may be a great coordinator, but he doesn't have the balls to fire coaches until its 3 years too late, and Im afraid with more Jaguars on this staff, its going to just happen ALL over again. vel
It's more Jaguars scrap and TD/Smitty didn't consider who the fans wanted, lmao which is a joke. Their feelings are hurt that their guy wasn't considered. Everybody is screaming we should have waited for Clements but don't even know if we even got permission to talk to Clements to interview him after we waited. They denied the Bears last year so it's not impossible, like some suggest, for him to have been denied

We really should of waited on Clements to at least interview him..But seriously, if Koetter wasnt from the Jags, I would be happy. Watching Jaguars film from the past 3 years, he looks like hes not completely braindead. Its just im afraid we're gonna have another BVG "do-whatever-I-want-and-dont-get-punished" situation. vel
Im OK with it now, just like you said I was pizzed because he was not my guy,.........Glad you admitted that. A lot of people won't even admit that when it's obvious. He wasn't my guy and I was just as mad, but I searched for things about him and am fine with it. I still am taking a wait and see approach but I am definitely in his corner until he proves me wrong. The mere fact that he isn't MM and already sounds smarter than him makes me happy because I was at the head of the "Fire MM" charge

You can't just interview anybody. They denied the Bears last year. They may have denied us. I think that would also make some people calm down. If it leaked that they denied everybody permission because he was next in line for the OC job in GB, that would prove there was 0% chance of him leaving.
