BazookaJoe
The Jags suck, that's for sure. But I'm starting to feel a little better about Koetter.I didn't know much about the years Koetter was at Jacksonville, so I looked into it a little bit.Find the section that starts talking about the Del Rio era and start reading.Koetter started as OC in 2007, so go from there. He had a ton of adversity to overcome with no personnel to help him (except MJD)Read it. I think it will help y'all feel better, as it has me.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacksonville_Jaguars#Wayne_Weaver_ownership_.281993.E2.80.932012.
Herr Doktor
I'm getting sick of all the negativity. Call me a homer, call me a kool aid drinker, call me apologist. But I am a fan. Let's give the change a chance, before calling it the end of the world.
BazookaJoe
People were expecting a "wow" factor. A flashy name.I just want a winner.I think this ole boy might be a winner who has been surrounded by losers. crucifixz
Our Wow factor better come from our DC.....cause none of the high powered Offenses are in the run to the superbowl any more...so we need to get someone that can turn our crappy defense into a winner! Guest Gritz
I have my own 24 hour rule......He's the Falcon's new OC. I'm a Falcon fan. He has my support.
kiwifalcon
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Gotta agree Gritz its not as though we have alot of say in the matter.I just gotta think with the weapons we have and if TD can make a couple of FA signings for the O and D I think we are right back in there. celtiksage
I'm getting sick of all the negativity. Call me a homer, call me a kool aid drinker, call me apologist. But I am a fan. Let's give the change a chance, before calling it the end of the world.I don't like it, but I will give it a chance. I mean after all, he's not MM and I was one saying anyone would be better. Koetter has never had the talent he has to work with now in Atlanta. I don't think he will be overwhelmed with it. He's probably licking his chops as to what he can do now. Hope he's not handcuffed by Smitty. He'll definitely get the benifit of the doubt from me. Rather have him over MM so only time will tell. Hopefully he comes out all spring next year with our vanilla RB or 2 WR set and then breaks out our WRs and TG all through the season. I'm sure White will be a lot happier. JRid
Dan Reeves just said on 680 the fan that he thinks Koetter will do a tremendous job in Atlanta with the talent we have. He said he will do a tremendous job at least 3 times and said he thinks Smitty did a great job hiring Koetter. He also mentioned how important it is for a coach to be familiar with an OC when he hires him. Herr Doktor
And if the change does not work, I'm down with Mr Blank rolling in with his guillotine and cleaning it out. We deserve a winner.
Guest Gritz
Hope he's not handcuffed by Smitty.Dammit celtik....where is that +1000 button?I've been saying this since we hired the guy. We could bring in Bill Walsh's clone and if Smitty put the clamps on him it wouldn't do any good to have him here.
Tootie Quivers
I was a little upset at first, 32nd ranked offense doesn't inspire confidence. That said, he seems to be a very bright, intelligent, well spoken guy. He was obvious extremely limited in Jacksonville from a talen standpoint. *TMo*
I'm getting sick of all the negativity. Call me a homer, call me a kool aid drinker, call me apologist. But I am a fan. Let's give the change a chance, before calling it the end of the world.I too can be classified a homer. The sky is always blue in Falcondom as far as I've been concerned. I have to admit I was a little dissapointed to hear the Dirk Koetter news at first but I'm coming back to the middle. His press conference didn't blow me away but it didn't dissapoint either. I'm ready to see what he has. Curious to see if there are personnel changes. Hopefully we will bring in some offensive linemen for him to work with. Herr Doktor
Amen on the line! You win and lose in the trenches. Fix that, and I could be a thousand yard rusher. Teams with a solid line can run the ball at will, using any RB. You don't need Barry Sanders with a wall in front of you!
Steel City Falcon
All the Dirk haters can suck it... For real. Let the dude come in and have a chance to make a difference. Lets see how this shakes out in the off season and through OTAs and mini camp.
SwampyMux12
I'm jacked that Mularkey's stubborn a$$ is gone. I'm absolutely willing to give this new dude a chance, they could have hired a trained gorilla and I would be happy Let's not write him off before he coaches a game... how many guys didn't work out in one place and then went on to be very successful? Look at Bill Belicheck if you don't think it can happen... This guy knows what he's doing or he wouldn't still be in the NFL. I'd challenge anyone ripping the hire to coach the 2011 Jaguars with "Sunshine" playing QB to anything better than a 32 ranking
Herr Doktor
Steel City is right. Yah know, we never had an off season. I think we lost a lot by not having those OTAs and team events. Then a rushed FA period didn't help.A full off season can only benefit!
