New Hope Eagle
there boards are filled with people crucifying MM on his offensive skillset.people asked for more explosiveness, more aggressiveness, using middle of field and more screens. Well, MM is gone and is being replaced by a man who had almost zerotalent in his last gig and likes to do what we have been asking for.Uses middle of field, is more aggressive, uses the screen, probably doesnt like sideline and curl routes which is (The epitome of a MM offense)so lets stop whining and give the guy a chance.if any are so good at picking coaches I am sure the falcons would have called you

shaudyshaudback
Franchise been azz since 1966 so you're **** right we aren't satisfied. No Super Bowl titles ever.A HISTORY FULL OF MEDIOCRITY. We are fighting with the Carolina Panthers for last team to win a title in the division. Why should we be satisfied or happy
Jaymadd
I agree alot of people are crying and whining because we didn't get the oc they wanted. Mr blank already showed y'all he wasn't playing during the press conference. I am glad that we laid a stink bomb against the giants because it caused everyone to wake up and realize that we needed some change and rededication to our goals
paulitik
Why should we be satisfied with this hire? We went with the quick easy choice instead of finding the best fit for our talent. Koetter was candidate because he is Smitty's boy, not because he was the best possible hire. I will always be a Falcons fan, and unlike Swift, I hope I eat crow, but this hire makes no sense, and does nothing to tell me this team is serious about winning in the playoffs. We just rewarded someone for failure.

Stewie
Amen...I am embarrassed by our fan base today. It is totally fine to disagree with a hire, but 99% of the people complaining don't have a clue as to why they don't like it. They just see 32nd and go ballistic. So dumb... Aftermath
Nor should we be, its not like we are coming off of a SB winning season, we are fans, its not our job to be satisfied with bland and mediocre.
Chi City Falcon
2006: 10th ranked off2007: 7th(koetters first year)2008: 20th(what happened to the top 10 offense?)2009: 18th(below average)2010: 16th(mediocre)2011: 32nd(awful)now if you want to talk about the players he had, then lets talk about ours. everyone is getting excited that koetter will bring a vertical passing attack to our offense which we are unequipped for because:A. our qb cant throw the deep ball. to deny this would be an admission of not watching falcons games. its a combination of arm strength(not how far he can throw, but his velocity) and mechanics(trajectory).B. we dont have a line that can pass protect long enough for the deeper routes to develop.we have a lot of work to do this offseason.plenty of reason to complain.Edit: and the falcons didnt call me because i dont know mike smith personally. Guest Gritz
Why should we be satisfied or happyI guess because the OP told us that we should be.....I laugh at all of the people on here who seem to somehow be threatened or upset when others don't like what the Falcons are doing.Isn't that one of the reasons that this MB even exists?Otherwise, just open an online Falcon Amateur Cheerleader Forum. Stewie
How can you be satisfied or not satisfied based on the guy's name? He hasn't even served one minute on the job and you have crucified him. How about letting him do his job then make a decision on him.
Carl927
Not satisfied with embarrassing losses versus playoff teams. Not satisfied a bit. Not satisfied with what they've done so far at all.I expected fresh eyes and fresh ideas. Perhaps a bit fresher than this. Koetter might just prove to be a genius at the passing game. Then again, there are very few of those out there. The odds are against this.Remember the start of the season? We have some serious rebuilding if we wish to go vertical. And arrogant enough to think that by know more than our front office and the experts in the media who like the hire. It's pathetic that so many people won't even give the guy a chance to prove himself before losing it. That guy from ESPN-NY was right. We have the worst fans in the NFL. We deserve nothing but failure.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS HIRING. i have stated why. that DOESNT MEAN i want to see the team fail.
DirtyBirdsDirtyWords
Blank gives us exactly what we've been begging for but somehow its bad. Crucify the guy if he puts out a performance like MM did against the giants. Not before.

Instead of hiring a proven offensive mind with EXPERIENCE in winning CHAMPIONSHIPS we chose a guy who's greatest NFL accomplishment is taking an offense from 7th to 32nd in four years? He won some bowl games in college....yippy freakin skippy. There are so many bowl games each year theyve run out of names for them. So, his philosophy is what we are looking for? Maybe so. Maybe he will be the greatest coordinator this team has ever seen. But right now, on paper, and rated against who we COULD have had this looks like a bad decision. Dont know how true it is that the team didnt even interview anyone else but is that the way to conduct a search for ANY employee?Just interviewing others could have given insight and a fresh set of perspective by listening to those candidates and what they thought of the team and how to fix it.Guys like Martz, Billick, even Clements all have Super Bowl rings. They have been there and know the blueprint for getting there. They have tasted sucess. Once you have a taste you want more. Our staff hasnt even gotten a whiff of what they are serving at the big dance. It's not that this fanbase is never satisfied, its just that we have never been given something satisying. It works both ways.

Championships are great, but the biggest name doesn't always mean it is the best fit for the situation.
