Robb4242
The Falcons have replaced MM with Dirk Koetter. Everybody thank Group 2 for all of their hard work in making this happen. GREAT hire by the Falcons. Who needs Todd Haley, Hue Jackson, Brian Billick, or Tom Clements when you can get the guy who in 4 years took the Jags from a top 10 offense to last in the league. fansince78
Anyone is a step up from Mularkey. That is the good thing about this hire. Koetter cannot possibly be more predictable.

Koetter cannot possibly be more predictable. He can if it wasn't MM, but instead MS who made us play that way. Koetter can be controlled, it seems, and will probably be contolled here as well. We'll run the same offense, that's why we didn't bring in a legit OC to run this offense.
GEORGIAfan
it isnt group 2 fault our FO is ***. Group 2 wanted better change. FO decided against that.
rounz
Well if he doesn't work out, MS will be the next to go; so let's hope he can make something positive out of this.

Koetter cannot possibly be more predictable.Careful what you ask for. Myself I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, but IF the powers to be don't do an complete upgrade of the OL, and at least give the man at least a chance to succeed, then a whole lot of folks who wanted MM's head, might have second thoughts. Falcons Beach Bum
None of us fans picked the new OC-but some of us are giving him a chance to earn our hate or love.
fansince78
Maybe...just maybe, we needed an OC who does not have too much of an ego to let Matt run the offense on the field. Not saying that is the reason, but......maybe.
Joremarid
honestly i would rather just have matt ryan run the offense.

Not saying that is the reason, but......maybe.Or maybe Smith will make our New OC learn our playbook instead of adding a new 1.Ask yourself.... Does this guy have the experience to bring in a new playbook for our guys? Edited January 15, 2012 by danight

fansince78
An OC is still needed on the sidelines when the team runs the no huddle guys.

Everyone's in group two now, except for those who immediately hop on any positive they can find.I'll probably join the latter camp myself, but it will take me a bit longer. Not really seeing any immediate positives to grab hold of.

vabchbirdlover
apparently so, but i have won the same number of superbowls as they have.Oouch. You know alot of us dis-agree about alot of things, but please educate me, name one NFL team who has no OC and lets the QB run the offense? Seriously, we all beech about the unknown, MS prior to the 2008 season ring a bell? But, from what I've heard, limited offensive talent in Jax, besides MJD. I, for one will give him the benefift of the doubt. Offensive line upgrade and time will tell if this was a good move.
