FalconOdense
And actually it should tell people alot that Mularkey didn't want to keep him in Jax... Because they are totally different...
jgator21
The reactions in this thread are absolutely ridiculous. Lets let the guy call a few plays with the players we have before we just decide he sucks. Unreal
Psychic Gibbon
How do u know if its a bad hire or not yet come on now let him prove himselfBecause I've watched enough Jags games through the past few years to know what to expect. I don't care what articles you have read, he runs a similar offense as Mularkey and that means this offense is not going to grow. Everyone is paying attention to the horrible offense he led this season but not the total mediocrity of almost every other season. It is a bad hire in the eyes of anyone who actually watches football.
Eddie Dominguez
I get in the shower for 10 minutes and they go and do this smh. I just wrote a post not even an hour ago saying that there was no way TD would hire this guy and low and behold. I am probably a lot more optimistic than most when it comes to the birds but right now I am highly disappointed and speechless. Its about to be the same old run first predictable play calling smh. FalconOdense
And if I were an aggressive coach, but had Gabbert as QB I would also run the ball all the time...

Guest Gritz
Wow, just one week after one of the most disappointing moments the Falcons have ever delivered in all of the decades I have been a Falcon fan.....they find a way to nearly top that in less than 7 days......I think I have finally found something that the Falcons may be best at......providing near soul-crushing disappointment. Guest TheIdowu
They're going to have to blow me away with whoever they pick up as the DC because right now I'm ******* pissed off. Out of all the choices they hire one of the worst candidates. I don't care if he had **** players last season, he has been nothing but mediocre with the Jags during his tenure and all they're doing is continuing the mediocre nature of this offense. They're going to have to blow me away with whoever they pick up as the DC because right now I'm ******* pissed off. HighFlyingFalcon
Guys, let's give the man the BOTD, he knows his stuff and he has said multiple times he wants to attack and be aggressive. The man has never had the personell, the Jags best WR this year was Mike Thomas, after that they were using Taylor Price and Kasim Osgood, those guys had a total of 92 combined receptions in their career, while using a rookie QB, with a terrible RT.Here he will have Roddy White, Julio Jones, and Matt Ryan as well as Tony G.i know but ****! didz
Falcons made a really bad move. They need to worry about causing a buzz, and a splash. This is just a nightmare of a signing. I might as well get Murlarkey back. Come on back you dofus. Koetter. Come on **** it. KOetter? WHOOOO?? ****
SiViK_OuTkAsT™
Well, the positive note is we should get to at least see some screens thrown Quizz's way now.
B_ELLIS24
don't forget, he had nothing to work with in JAX, other than MJD! he'll have a lot more weapons here! And, when he was head coach at Arizona State, he ran a high-powered passing offense. I'll see what he can do before I throw him under the bus. cyofish
All I have to say is renewing my season tickets next year is still off the table. At least we know we're not going to get Jacksonville's DC since he was retained by Mularkey.
Guest TheIdowu
Whatever, I'm just gonna wait and see and then form my opinion about him..You'd think with all of the old gray heads around here, that wisdom would prevail., but, of course, emotion matters more than wisdom
AMERICAN NIGHTMARE
if fans got a problem with this hire then go jump on the aints fan base. whiny falcon fans. give the man a chance!
Zodiac
i know but ****!but what? you want us to ressurect Walsh from the grave?
Guest Gritz
This also guarantees that Smith will still have a huge input into the offensive game planning and philosophy.Koettner doesn't have the resume or autonomy to instill or push for a more aggressive offense.New HC hire coming after next year. Falcon Fanatic
I can't believe Blank didn't call one of us first.Well Blank better give the people who buys the tickets, concessions, and Falcons merchandise at the games what they want in a winner or when tickets sales start lagging he has no one to blame but himself. This hire doesn't exactly make me want to renew my tickets either because I have no confidence in a man from a perennial loser team like the Jags coming to Atlanta. LIke one poster stated ... underwhelming.
Guest TheIdowu
Why are you all looking after big names? Big names don't win championships. . . . good coacing does.
