MSalmon
A more likely destination would be Jax, but no way do they give up their top 5 (3?) pick. The Jets are the only team that I could even see possibly presenting us a trade for ROddy. They are a run first pounding team that a guy like Roddy fits. The question is, if we did this trade (big if) who the heck do we get in his place
Sheldon Cooper
If we signed Marcus Colston, then yes, trade Roddy White.
King Syrup Golden 32 Oz
If we signed Marcus Colston, then yes, trade Roddy White. As long as their oline, qb, and oc come with him...
blkbigdog35
C'mon man 84 is not the problem and why would we give up a weapon. More pressing concern is OL and DL.
MSalmon
C'mon man 84 is not the problem and why would we give up a weapon. More pressing concern is OL and DL.What you pointed out is the one reason to trade Roddy. If we wanted a #1 pick and possibly a 3rd or 4th to grab an OLine and DLine or even two on the OLine; then he becomes a trade chip. The thing with Roddy to remember is that he is not even close to Julio in terms of athleticism or potential. He's good if not great for moving the chains, runblocking and redzone; but with Julio in place, one has to ask: can we move on without him? Particularly if we are desiring a new OT that will cost a first rounder most likely. For that matter if Roddy being traded netted us a 2nd and 4th this year and a second next year; we end up in good shape.
Total Package
Roddy has another 100 catch year but because he dropped too many balls now we should trade him for a first round pick? WTFRemember last year Steve Smith was gonna get traded because he had a bad year or two and they should get something for him while he still had value? Well, this year him came back and killed. ANd he is a lot older than Roddy.Roddy is the best reciever in falcons history, why the **** would you want to trade him for a couple of draft picks? When the O line gets straightened out and we get a real coordinater, him and Julio on the field are going to present a lot of problems for defenses.
