Tribal Chief
yea lets trade our 3 time pro bowl reciever .. okExactly this thread is ignorantSMH. All the OP is doing is thinking outside the box. No one is saying it's gonna happen. Everyone has their own ideas about what would make this team better. There is nothing ignorant except the fact that other people don't have any type of imagination or take the time to even have a legit debate when it comes to things like this. FlyHighFalcons
Only way I trade Roddy:1. A LEGIT veteran LT and a 2nd rounder (that would be used on a WR if one isn't signed in FA)2. A LEGIT number 2 WR and a 1st or a 2nd and 3rd.3. Packaged with Turner for MJD and a 3rd or 4th.

madman88
I don't think anyone really wants to trade Roddy. Some people are just looking at what the team has to do in a realistic way and have to see trading him as one of the options the team may consider. I have enough jerseys that I can not wear anymore, but if trading Roddy gets the team's problems fixed, I can deal with it. trading your best player on the team only makes u that more worse then u.was before trading him.. i cnt believe ppl.are saying trade rw... He** for all that where is the trade dunta thread??? Since he is getting paid more then out BEST player..

He** for all that where is the trade dunta thread??? Since he is getting paid more then out BEST player..Roddy is not that special. Once again, I must point out the fact that the only reason he has had the seasons he had the 4 years prior to getting Julio is because we had no one other than Gonzo to throw the ball to when it mattered most. Roddy stepped his game up and played at a high level to get the big contract. He wouldn't have had as many catches or targets this season if every passing play wasn't designed around him, JJ and TG. There are plenty of WR in the NFL that can step in and fill that spot. We just have to go after them. I know you are gonna make the argument about the 100+ catches and 1,000 yard seasons. And I will return with who else did we have to throw the ball to beside Gonzo.
Big Rob 64
There not trading Roddy. He's the best receiver in franchise history. And a top 5 receiver in the NFL right now. Ryan looks to him more than anyone else. While I am not in favor of trading Roddy (unless we get at leasta 1st rounder for him), he is not the greatest receiver in our history.Andre RisonTerance MathisThe Alfreds

Hes not special but last year EVERYONE knew the ball was going to him, constant double team but still racked up a career high... Not special? I guess it was a fluke he turned his caeer around and decided to ball out like he knew he could.. Calling roddy not special is calling dunta a shut down cb.... Roddy isnt the fastest biggest strongest or jumps the highest but yet his numbers speak for themselves... The only WR to have better numbers then him is johnson... Andre johnson: specialLarry fitz:specialMegatron:specialTop 3 Wrs in the game and roddy out plays all of them but he isnt special ok... If u say so my friend.. i guess mathis let his record get beat by a average WR...

No Roddy isn't that special. I would say it to his face if I saw him. Roddy can't even come up with the big catch when it matters most. He has dropped plenty of game winners throughout his career. Those 3 you just named make big plays at any given time so yeah I will call them special. It seems that Roddy almost has to be motivated in order to have a great game. If the ball doesn't go his way on the first few throws, it takes him a while to get in the game. That aint special. Everyone gets so caught up in Roddy's numbers. SO WHAT. Psychic Gibbon
I wouldn't protest if they did trade him if they got a very good offer. Roddy isn't that explosive anymore since he has seemingly developed a habit of falling to the ground whenever he catches a pass, he runs his mouth too much on and off the field and it almost always comes back to haunt the team, he clearly doesn't give full effort in some games, and, to be honest, he has peaked as a player and he's at the point where either they can trade him when he still has optimal value or be stuck with him for better or worse until his contract runs out. Not to say he isn't good, because he is, but he isn't great anymore either and he has a piss poor attitude at times, but don't get me wrong I'm definitely not advocating kicking him off the team. Tribal Chief
My main knock on Roddy, and it showed this season, he seems to care about himself just a little bit more than he cares about the team. He doesn't get his head into the game if he isn't the first receiver to get thrown at. Everytime he has a good game, only thing you hear about is me, I or me again. He had the nerve to call Julio out when he had that bad game in Houston. He had a bad game as well, along with plenty other bad moments this year. He's not a bad player but he has alot of maturing to do, which is sad for a 30 year old. In reality, it's possible that he will be gone after his current contract runs out anyway. He is gonna want more money than he is making now and it's highly possible that he wont get it and we give that money to Julio. Roddy has already made a comment about top receiver pay when Fitz got his money last year. So you know he's gonna want more than what he is making now.
