Trouble
http://www.jaguars.com/media-gallery/videos/Gabbert-on-Mularkey/a610efd4-775d-4d52-ae0f-e70e1dec490dI know the press interviews are normally full of turds. But Gabs is giving MM a lot of credit for what happened here.I don't blame the kid for being excited and looking forward to next season and getting better. Im not hating on the kid.But when the QB and the team does better when he is calling his own plays and the team pretty much sucks and falls flat when the OC is calling them, you have to wonder how much the OC really did this year. You have to wonder did he hamper Ryans progress more than help it by being to conservative. Where even White made comments about it, when normally no one around here comments on anything. All the weapons we had and we still see almost no new passing plays to get them the ball.Maybe he did not watch any falcon games last season except when we played them. Darkflight
Matt called the good plays in no huddle. Gabbert is just kidding himselfWhere was this awesome playcalling in the Giants game in the no huddle? You guys have to make up your mind. If this was MMs offense he has to get credit for the good parts of it too.
Atl/0
I don't think much of Gabbert at all but his chances of looking decent in MM's offense is as good as Ryan looking elite in whatever offense we run next year.Whatever side you are on--whether you think it's either MM, or Ryan's for the offense being as lame as it is we will know for sure this time next year. Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
Gabbert sucks. Ryan has more talent in his pinky finger than Gabbert has in his whole body.Mizzou - Average QBNFL - Bust
Tuggle'2
MM did his job in bringing Mat into the league , playing ultra conservative and making him feel comfy. He never jumped to the next level. I will give MM a lot of credit in what he did for our baby QB. I hope Gab has the same growth that we had. That being said , I still feel MM cannot get him to the next level. The jump from good to great. I love that quote from Mr Blank. So epic! who?lio jones
the no huddle was garbage against decent competition. Look at the giants. Its not a coincidence ryans decent games were against bums and he SUCKED against the big boys. Id take flacco all day
Aftermath
Just sayin. Pretty sure Matt didn't make them up as the game went onno, he didn't, but I dont see many people saying Mularkey cant draw up a decent play, the main knock on him is that his gameplans and situational playcalling were often ineffective. Which is why people point to Ryan having more success in the No huddle since he was able to read the D and call the play based on what he saw. Tuggle'2
You cant use the Giants as a real base. Our O-line was made to look like mightymites. Usually Matt does a really good job calling plays on his own. We all know these plays are precalled on what "HE" sees and feels would work. Matt is really good with the no huddle. He just needs a coach with more confidense in him and he will gain more in him self.

If so go look at his stats they're bad, and his defense won him those games. Also his leading receiver is hi running back.

The quote I replied to said Matt called all the good plays in no huddle. My response was who drew up the plays. I didn't mention anything about his gameplans or any of that other stuff. Really wasn't meant to be an argument. MM is gone now. No point in arguing about his playcalling and gameplanning. We all got what we wanted right? I was just saying MM is the one that drew up the plays that Matt was calling. They were successful at times so you have to give MM a little credit for coming up with the plays at least. If Julio would have never gotten injured, HD would have had just under/over 300 yards. He didn't use Quizz right at all. All the plays seemed to be designed around JJ, RW and TG. I like to see an offense like GB and NO. Sorry to mention those 2 but I like to see aggressiveness.

I hated seeing him on the bench and Turner, an extra TE or god forbid an extra OL in on passing plays. We started using more 3 wide sets later in the year*some with TG as the 3rd receiver) but at that point I dont think Ryan was as comfortable throwing to him as he was to JJ, RW & TG and for that Ryan deserves part of the blame as well. HD could have added another dimension to the O if he would have been used as a consistent threat
who?lio jones
hd was never seen because our noodle arm qb wasnt a big enough threat to force defenses not to stack the box. We needed extra blockers.
