THE ICEMAN
I heard guys say he's captian check down or he's no more than a game manger when he is much more than that. I just don't see were some of you see he's just a game manger. A QB that threw for 4177 yards 29TDS 12INts and a "career 70% wining percentage" is not a game manger and if you think so name some not named Ryan that have those type of stats. The guy has to check it down so much because of the bad OL and the hole arm streng thing is cazy as well because his arm is every bit as strong as Kurt Warner's arm and the Cardials road him all the way to the superbowl were he then lit up that great Pittsburg Defense for over 400 yards in a lost. And as for the no playoff wins, yea I agree he needs to start showing up in the postseason games. Then you can always look at all the 4th Quarter combacks or game wining drives he has because sense coming in the NFL he has the most and yes more than Brady,Brees and Rodgers. I think you can compare Ryan right now with a guy like Philip Rivers or even Tony Romo the guys that are in between good and elite. I think some of you forget that this past seanson was only Ryan's "4th Season" and you're all pissed because he didn't win us a superbowl so now he's not good or elite and the worlds going to end unless we make a change at QB. I geuss the haters would all rather have Mark Sanchez,Tyler Yates,Tim Tebow or how about the true game manger Joe Flacco because at the end of the day its all about using whats around you and Matt Ryan's never had an elite OL to throw behind sure maybe a great Run blocking OL but an average at best passblocking OL so give the guy what he needs and he'll be back that Lombardi Trophy. And looking at his stats right now if he stay this productive over the next 10 years or so it'll net him a place in Canton Ohio and he'll get one of those Jackets that say HOF on it super bowl or not. Elite or not he pretty dam good. And that new Qb rating thing that espn has Ryan was 5thhttp://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-seasonAnd this is a pretty good read on Matt Ryan and is he elitehttp://bloggingdirty.com/2012/01/06/the-hot-read-matt-ryan-elite-quaterback/

Aftermath
yeah, I hear the check down comment a lot, but there is no factual basis for it. Its nothing more than a talking point people use, same with the noodle arm. I recognize that he isn't perfect, and I am more than capable of seeing his flaws. He is open to criticism based on his performance in big games, but thats not what you hear most often.

paulitik
I'm the biggest Matt defender around here, and I don't think he's elite, yet. That said, the only thing holding him back is coaching. If we keep thinking we are some smashmouth offense, but continue to base all of our gameplans and play calls off of fear, whether that be of a sack, a turnover, or the other QB getting the ball, he'll never progress to what he's capable of. Willy monday
0-3......all that other stuff is irrevelant. Stats are for excuse makers. I'm pretty sure Tom Brady is.on 0-3 playoff lose streak
TAZREX
0-3......all that other stuff is irrevelant. Stats are for excuse makers. And Peyton Manning sucks since he went 0-3 in his first 3 playoff appearances, including a 137 yd 2 INT stinker in the 3rd game.
