Kevo
For me,it was kind of miserable on draft day.for a couple of years afterwards.I think that draft set us back several years...but,we got through it.
joe horn
We benefitted greatly by having offseason regime change. Darren Howard fell in our laps in the 2nd round and Haslett assembled a decent roster, all things considered.Still, who knows what would've happened with a full draft in 1999 and beyond... one what-if would have Dikta lingering, so there's that. WHODAT BEAST IN THE CELLAR
i know other saints and rival fans may disagree with me, but R Williams was the catalyst to the saints offensive renaissance IMO. before he came along our offense for years were always a non factor, he helped give it star power for the first time ever. i don't regret the R Williams draft deal because the emphasis in offense was created and here we are today. WHODAT BEAST IN THE CELLAR
it also helped a great deal that Deuce came in to replace him. maybe it's just a quink a dink, but when saints landed R Williams, i felt like "finally" this team will be a force offensively, take from that what you will

pencilpusher. just because
wasn't directed at me, but i know the 2009 draft sucked as a cowboys fan to watch and not have a pick in the first two rounds. Booooooooooring. Tho the lions didn't do anything with the picks outside Pettigrew guys like Clay Matthews and Leshon McCoy were still on the boards
SuperAINTSfan
Team wise I think haslett did a good job after so it wasn't horrible.BUT like pp said. The draft doesn't have that special feeling. I still enjoy the draft a lot but there's just that thing of not having a pick!

falconsd56
apples and watermelonsWe should end up with atleast 7 players from the draft and that is with out making any trades.7 players is a full draftWe ended up with 5 players last year. That was after making 2 tradesIn no way shape or form is it ANYTHING like the saints mind boggling trade for Williams

falconsd56
out of curiosity, what has TD done with the 4th-7th round?Mixed resultslast year we got Quiz Rogers who looked good in limited touchesMat Bosher who the second half of the year was kicking GREAT.And two practice squad development guys who showed promise in preseason.in 2010 we got Hawley who struggled some but also showed good promise and is our center of he futureDom Franks who was up and down in his first real action this year and Shann Schillinger who was a great ST player for usMeirer the wr we drafted has barely seen the field.in 09 we drafted Reynolds who imo was miscast as a guard this year. Still has tools to develop.Sidsbury who hada good year as a reserve ( 4.5 sacks)Vance Walker who has been a really good rotational playerAnd Adkins who wasa great ST player and played OK on defense getting his first taste on the field the last 2 games but is probably a ST only type guy.And of the 2008 class the only guys we have left in that range are Beirman and James. So been hit and miss. Some good players some ok players and some bad ones
