GENERALZOD
I'm sure most of you have saw the press conference by now, if not here's a link to watch it on this site : http://www.atlantafalcons.com/falconstv/?video_id=1383881005001As for body language, if there is such a thing of reading into those type of reactions then :FIrst :I got the impression that the powers that be : "The BIG THREE" which are Arthur Blank/Thomas D./Mike Smith felt sincerely bad for failing, not just because of monetary loss or lack there of that is, but because of failure. That being said, upon further notice, if you wanna get right down to the brass tax so to speak and evaluate the powers that be. 1st - Arthur Blank kept his coat closed for most of the conference, meaning he didn't sweat none of this stuff, why should he, he's RICH! His job wasn't on the line, he wasn't sweating nothing, he only grabbed the water bottle once by my count. His coat was closed for most of the conference. 2nd - Thomas D - He looked like a sniveling weasel, everytime Arthur was writing anything on his note pad Thomas D. was glaring at it wanting to know what he was writing. I don't blame TD, I would also if I felt my job and decisions were in question. But TD's coat was open and he kept drinking from the water bottle, meaning he was sweating the whole thing and didn't like being questioned too much. 3rd - Mike Smith - Gotta love Smitty! Dude was 100% honest about everything, he did not ONCE look to see what Arthur Blank was writing on his notepad, he handled things like a real head coach should. Excellent character. None of that sniveling weasel crap that TD was doing or trying to see what Arthur was writing. Smitty kept his coat open the whole time, he's a big dude and honestly he should have hit the water bottle a bit more. I'm not complaining at all here, I like the big three powers that be here for the Falcons, I have questions as to some of the decisions they've made, but sometimes if you wanna get great you've got to try by going out on a limb so to speak. BTW I noticed Arthur pointed out that Rich Mckay was in the back of the audience, I guess the bottom line with Mckay is that he's become more of a money manager and nothing more? I dunno?I enjoyed watching this press conference, looking around the league a bit I don't know of any other team that does this kind of thing addressing the fans. Some of you might take out of this press conference as something like the team is in turmoil or some BS like that, but the truth is that the facts are that the ownership/GM/Head Coach took the time to reassure us the fans that they are doing everything to improve this Falcons team. For that I applaud them for taking the time to do so!This is my take on the whole "Bottled Watergate" schenario. Many thanks to them for taking the time to address us fans!GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SyCo
I don't know... Something about smith made me think he was very uncomfortable and irritated.
ltstorm2
I noticed that TD deffered a lot of the questions to Smith that he could have answered.
QuantumFalconz
The press conference was " The apology letter " for this season IMO. Basically Arthur said "I'm pissed just like the fans are, and I will do everything in my power to light a fire and help TD and Smith.I not content with being good anymore, we need to be great to bring the fans of the Atlanta Falcons a Super Bowl". That's what I heard.
HouseofEuphoria
They all 3 looked like they've just about had all they can stand of D. Orlando Ledbetter, i can tell you that much.
The Don™
I don't know... Something about smith made me think he was very uncomfortable and irritated.Me too. I think it had to do with Mr Blank laying down the truth and not sugar coating anything. TD looked a little uneasy too at times. Blank expects the whole team, Smitty, and the coaches to step it up a level or two and bring a Super Bowl to the city of Atlanta.
Thiccolas Cage
I thought that they repeated a lot of what I was thinking or feeling throughout the year. We are headed in the right direction. As for TD sweating Mr. Blank, he is supposed to. When you are a GM of any company, you always want to bend over backwards for the owner. Furthermore, the fact that he deferred some of the questions about the coaching and specifics on games to MS shows that they have respect for one another. Smitty didn't answer any major questions regarding personnel. It is still a business ppl, you are supposed to have etiquette.
madman88
No it was smitty taking drinks of water after every question... To me it looked like smitty was the nervous one... TD and blank took shots at the coaching... And smitty said himself that it starts with him. Everytime something was said about caoching smitty looked nervous and tentitive
falcon1200
it is obviously that coach smith is very irritated. Look at his eyes. At times, his body was leaning away from AB.
laynepink
Arthur always brings it like a boss. Hes funny to watch, looking like the godfather.I liked how when sack stats were brought up Arthur interrupted and said stats don't tell the whole story. Felt like a smackdown to me, a needed one. madman88
There was a bunch of under the table slaps in the face to both TD and smitty... You can see how smitty dfended himself by saying "noone!!! Puts more pressure on me More then myself"... Take that blank and TD LOL There was a bunch of under the table slaps in the face to both TD and smitty... You can see how smitty dfended himself by saying "noone!!! GENERALZOD
Body language says a lot I guess. The way a person reacts to certain situations and subjects might say a lot?. Perhaps. I know when I get a bill in the mail and have to worry about how I am going to pay for it I worry! My body language and facial impressions go to what some call cloud nine, it could be a TV show! I'm just sayin'! Falcons TRU TV Perhaps?

GENERALZOD
I noticed that TD deffered a lot of the questions to Smith that he could have answered.Yes sir! He dodged thing like a sniveling weasel so to speak as a noun type of descriptive. Not to mention I am terrible at language. Don't get me wrong, I'm not starting a carry the torch to remove Thomas D., Dude's got a lot of stress, I'm just saying he needs to work on his public character and persona a bit. Heck, I would have done worse, so who am I to judge. I would have had strippers and some free booz for the media, at least by doing so I could have said as a GM " How bout them Boobies"!. Even though I applaud the public reassurance stuff, I do however would have rather have not seen the public proclamation "Depending on how you look at it " internal fighting. Arguing means nothing get's better. But then again who's to say they were arguing, was it a body language thing? I dunno? Thoughts?
mitunpatel2003
Well! can you blame any of them? they're very angry at the moment just like how we all are. I trust TD, he will get the right OC and DC for us and of course the FA and Draft.
FalconFanForLife
Well I thought the entire idea of this press conference was commendable. They didn't hide in their offices as so many others would have, but rather faced the media and answered the questions thrown their way.As for body language?I have my coat on and it is unzipped atm.It is warm in my room atm.I am drinking beer at a moderate pace.I think that means I am very comfortable, and am concealing nothing. Thoughts?I dnt think they were auguring at all.. more so showing fustration and showing that it starts with those two and if the team doesn't perform or have the players to perform then they are responsible... But both TD and smitty got the ego hit a little bit in this press conference. I think this was healthy. So we as fans know that Mr blank is looking at the same problem we all see.. and that's TD fault for building this o-line... And smitty fault for not getting more out of them. All in al I think this will open some eyes and go forward a smarter way...

Soon as blank said one word smitty quickly got quiet.. i think his seat is very hot. And everyone knows once u change coordnators the HC is next... phattywankenobi
Absolutely. PCBL awareness is very important especially within close proximity of the body being read. If they suddenly lean to the left or right then an exit strategy must be implemented quickly as the subject has just pulled off a one cheek sneak.
