FlyDirty
Just curious if any Ryan detractors would like to take a stab at posing some hypothetical best-case scenarios for gracefully or not so gracefully getting rid of Ryan and getting something of value in return. What sort of value would he net in a trade? More curious about actual reason-crafted responses then flip jokesTo preface...I'm not really in the detractor camp myself. I'm still a fan of his cerebral approach...but have begun to question his overall mettle after this season. Any ideas?

Lou_Dog
why would you want him gone? Give him a good Oline before you try to get rid of him.
Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
Ryan's not going anywhere.. nor do the majority of our loyal fans want him to. Sounds like somebody needs to pick a new team to support
Guest Gritz
You're probably going to get flamed for this but you shouldn't. You framed a well thought out potential "down-the-road" problem that might not have an easy exit strategy.Realistically though I think you have to look at 2 separate factors:Number 1: The Falcons have a lot of time and money invested in Ryan. He is quarterbacking a team that is having winning seasons and he's putting up decent stats overall.Number 2: The Falcons unspoken or unacknowledged goat for the perceived failures of this offense (and by extension too Ryan) is Mike Mularkey. Now that he is gone and we will have a new OC that will buy Ryan some more time....whether people believe it is warranted or not.Put your flame retardant suit on because I think you're going to catch undeserved heat for bringing this up.....but I get what you're trying to ask. fansince78
I think the best exit strategy (it will be when he retires) will be to have a ceremony at halftime that inducts him into the Falcons hall of fame.

root down
"IF" RGIII is available at #5, see if the Redskins would trade straight up. If not, and they prob. wouldn't, I slowly sweeten the deal to make it happen. Maybe, Decoud, then a 4th next yr.
falcons4life
I'm all for hypothetical theories as long as they have at least one foot grounded in reality. This one doesn't.Ryan isnt going anywhere. You have a better chance of snapping a photo of Bigfoot riding the Loch Ness monster.

CrimsonFalcon
4 Super Bowls, two MVPS, over 60,000 yds passing, close to 250 TDs, NO CONTROVERSIES...yeah, I think that works.

fansince78
Don't you guys wonder what really happened to JH? The dude seemed to have the talent coming out of college. It was like he was possessed by the spirit of a crappy quarterback when he got to the NFL.
swift
Approach would be let Ryan get this new season under OC but I would do some heavy scouting of some mid round project QBs and take a flier on a big arm QB . If Ryan fails any post season success and you don't see the improvement he will be held for trade bait next season before he hits free agent market and still has any value

PSSSHHHRRR87
Ryan isn't the problem with this team. I will support Ryan until he gives me a reason not to. When there is a situation where his receivers catch balls that hit them square in the hands, he has an OC that gives him the ultimate chance to succeed and doesn't put limitations on him with their ultra-conservative style, and he trusts the O-line to give him the time in the pocket that he needs to go through his progressions and he still fails, then I will say it's time to move on. You don't give up on a guy that has done nothing but win since arriving into Atlanta.

But at the same time don't forget about the times when the receivers are wide open and Ryan over or under throws them or checks down.
