I Even Bleed Red
I feel like the Falcons knew for a while that MM will be a strong canditate for the Jag's HC position. If so, they probably prepared in advance. The meeting they are holding is basically 12 hours after MM was hired. That tells me IF they are going to announce an OC, Brat would be the most likely choice.I hope I'm wrong. I hope they announce Spags as our DC instead. But I have a feeling that's what the big announcement will be, if there is one. I really don't hope we promote from within. This is the chance to get in fresh POVs. Mid-Nite-Toker
You are reading my mind, and why I said that the big change was needed at HC...MM leaving was said and done last year.I think that BB was brought in just to replace MM and retaining MS as HC makes that likely IMHO. Don't be surprised if MS assumes DC responsibilities. This equation is disastrous for the Falcons.

Don't be surprised if MS assumes DC responsibilities. This equation is disastrous for the Falcons. We brought in Brat during winning times -- a time where we were comfortable with our conservative/passive strategy because things were going our way at 13-3. Now things are different. We have been exposed...on national TV...more than once. Surely, they can't be this stupid....wait, it's the Falcons...ya, they can. Mid-Nite-Toker
That is all very presumptive. Not really. MM was getting HC options last season, so those that wanted him gone were always going to get their wish.BVG always had the option to return to the NCAAF, which he did. It was MS that needed the p/o win and not firing him IMHO suggests possibilitieslaid out are probable. Why would AB go after coordinators that may buck MS philosophy if he is retained as coach? I see the status quo and that's BB asOC and MS as HC/DC...or an inexperienced DC.
Guest Negatorris
If Mike Smith takes over the defense, shoot me now.Bratkowski also wouldn't be as bad as you think, and HD, KM, and if EW leaves, KC, would be used a lot more. But if we were to succeed under his offensive philosophy, then I believe we need a new RB, or just use Snelling.

Thiccolas Cage
I don't think that Bratkowski would be a bad OC either. He seems to be more aggressive than MM ever was. Look at his days at Cincy. I think we splurge a little on a new defensive coordinator.
AtlFalc78
I think we need new blood. Players aren't happy with current scheme/conversative approach so why would we stay in house...I don't expect any big news from the conf today and would be surprised with any coaching news
Thiccolas Cage
We need new coordinators to give Smitty new perspective as a HC. A coaching staff can become one dimensional too guys. If we would have kept the same staff NOTHING would have changed, just players in the draft. It is time to get some new insight and make changes. Get some coaches that coach to WIN and not to LOSE. I believe that a change in scheme would send Ryan back to the film room and may send a message to him that it is now or never. Nobody listens to fans. We are a bunch of bozos by NFL coaching standards. However, it is great that this point is going to get across finally. That lil Mickey Mouse junk that we were running was great for when we did not have ****, now it is time to step up to the big boy playbook. Falcon918
I believe we would do great with the same scheme with a creative approach to the game. Remember in the first half against GB we were very creative they didn't know what hit them. Bratkowski would be a good fit. He has an impressive resume with offenses! AtlFalc78
I went back to old reports and here are some less than appealing comments:"For years, Bengals fans wanted Bob Bratkowski out of Cincinnati–mainly because of the inconsistency of the offense each season""A few weeks ago, Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson said he would consider returning in 2011 if the organization made one key change–get rid of offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski""disappointing 4-12 finish in 2010.""In his 10 seasons in Cincinnati, the Bengals ranked 20th or lower in scoring for several seasons"Why in the he11 would we want to slip backwards and hire someone with a poor track record. Players aren't happy now, we likely will recruit FAs, and this is what we would have to offer????? Lets hope we search around the league!!!!! Flying Falcon
This is simply ridiculous. Why cant they (FO) get things right? Here, they have a chance to ultimately right the ship with two "great" hires and they are truly thinking of tanking next year with this announcement? I mean, TD already has set us back with getting rid of all our picks and the only way to revive this dead animal was to bring in new, energetic blood. @ this organization. high impact
100% Chance it will be Bob Bartkowski as OC they brought him in to take it over once Mike was to leave.
niels petersen
I have no idea wether Bratkowski will be a good OC or not. I just want this FO to look at all the opportunities at hand before making a decision - thats the only way to make sure you have the right guy!If they promote BB during this press conference, I will be very sceptical. UK13
I really hope this threa is people just making conversation because at what point did Bratkowski show he was a good OC besides those high powered offenses at Cinci
Carl927
Bratkowski might get the job, but I imagine they'd first shop around a little and see if they can do better. They probably can.
g-dawg
please Dear God, let both coordinator positions be filled from outside the organization - we need fresh ideas and new schemes.

The press conference will be nothing more than a recap of the season, and a teaser of where we are heading as an organization. I highly doubt either coordinators will be announced today. vafalconfan
According to Pay Yasinkas the odds are pretty good that Bratowski is the hire. However if you think the Falcons will resemble the saints or packers offensively think again. This is not a forward move in my opinion. ATL#33
Unlikely, because Ive read on a few sites and off Ledbetters Twitter That Bratkowski will follow Mularkey to Jacksonville
