mth15
I know the offseason hasn't begun yet, but for fans like us it has. I dont pay attention to any coordinators on the market so I'd really like to get everyones opinion on who they think we should pursue to get, If we get lucky well get some type of mastermind... The only 3 coordinators that come to mind are Singletary, Mike Martz, and Spagnola. I dont know the history of Spag but I know Martz was on a championship team with a legendary offense. They even gave these guys a name.. "The Greatest Show on Turf", I really can only remember defenses having all the nicknames.....but years later or not Im pretty sure he had something to do with the success. Also have there ever been any coordinators to be successful in the NFL that started as a college coordinator?...So who do you all think are the top 5 coordinators we should look at (for off and def) Edited January 11, 2012 by mth15
falcons4life
Looks like Spags is going to philly so scratch him.Singletary went from a position coach to head coach to position coach. No one even considered him as a DC after the SF gig, why should we?Martz....a serious consideration.
mth15
So only Martz, and I see what you mean with Singletary hes too much of a risk and probably wont be **** for us.
FlyHighFalcons
We have a window to land Spags. No coaching changes will be made or contemplated until Andy Reid gets back from vacation next week.
Snowen
Martz would be great. Look what he even did in CHI, with that horrible brat Cutler. If theres one person not named Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy or Bill Belichek who can get the most out of Julio/Roddy/HD/TG, its Martz. For DC, I'd love Spags or Nolan, but spags seems like a longshot since the Philly talk is serious. mth15
Cool, has Todd Haley been a coordinator before? Hes got a certain fire to him that I like. And even though he fell through in KC he has shown glimpses of hope for them Edited January 11, 2012 by mth15

laynepink
NO CRONIES.I absolutely do not want to see some mediocre BS here. We need to shoot for the BEST coordinators we can get. Absolutely No Jacksonville Cronies like this Dirk Koetter guy. Edited January 11, 2012 by laynepink
falcons4life
Tom Clements for OC.

No one even considered him as a DC after the SF gig, why should we?Martz....a serious consideration. He had SF defense pretty good when he was the HC...let him just focus on one side of the ball might be just the right combination... Plus he weird with smitty in Baltimore so there's familiarity...
mth15
I wouldn't mind rahim...but i just hated this guy some months ago. Hes got that fire in him though...but idk
bumpyphish
You guys have to understand that these positions are probably seen league-wide way more attractive they were when these guys were initially hired. Falcons stock is up, baby! For DC, I could see them going with Del Rio. If he isn't going to be a head coach again immediately, why not commit for 3 years or so to a playoff-caliber team? I doubt Del Rio has such of an ego that he an Smitty couldn't get along just fine. They do the preseason games and practices. Seems like not a longshot to me.For OC, I hope Dimitroff works some magic. I keep seeing Koetter mentioned and that is NOT a possibility that interests me in the least. Mike Martz would be intriguing. It would be key to get a guy who can really help Matt and the offense take the next step.
JBeattz
I like the idea of Marty as OC.Not sure about dc. But if smitty is going to be heavily involved with the d then I think we need someone that's very aggressive and hates zone d.
I give lengthy responses
Cool, has Todd Haley been a coordinator before? Hes got a certain fire to him that I like. And even though he fell through in KC he has shown glimpses of hope for themHaley was the OC for Arizona in 08. I would love having him considering what he did there (Boldin, Fitz, Warner) and he also had some weapons in KC (Bowe, Charles). The Monarch
The only thing I don't want to see is a retread whose prime years came almost a decade (or more) ago. See Mike Martz, Brian Billick, Dan Reeves, etc.

I wouldn't mind seeing Del Rio at DC, then again, he has had player issues too...And Larry Fitzgerald came VERY close to leaving Az because Haley left. He wanted to go to KC to play for him. thats Kansas f'n City. Players don't like it that Haley demands they give 100% in practice, but they do respect that he's consistent and even across the board from the best player on the roster to player #53. Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
I'd personally love to have Wade Phillips as our DC.. dude knows his ish!
mth15
Yeah but the Texans would probably threaten to rape his loved ones if he even thought about comin to us. But I like Haley, his toughness and attitude would really give us that swagg. And my personal opinion, Id rather us look for someone that has a good head on their shoulders, but has a ton of swagg. By swagg I mean toughness, enthusiasm, and just..... swagg. Somebody that will make our players into what they should've been these past few years (not skillfully) Edited January 11, 2012 by mth15
