Pa_Falcon_Fan
I already answered that here: The New York Giants had a new OC (Kevin Gilbride) and DC (Steve Spagnuolo) in 2007. They decided to give Tom Coughlin an ultimatum year... win or else. WIth a new OC and a new DC they went on to win the Super Bowl.

NoMoreExcuses
Went on to win a Super Bowl next year ...trying to thinkany guesses ?Swift,Have you heard about the Falcons/Jaguars swapping coaches. Mularky to Jackson for their coordinator Jag's Koetter. Their fans, according to the message boards, seems to hate him more than the disapproval of Mularky. Koetter and Smith have a relationship from the their days with Jacksonville. If we hire this guy and he doesn't work, Blank need to fire Dimitrioff and Smith before the 2013 Superbowl Edited January 11, 2012 by NoMoreExcuses

swift
if TD hires Jags OC he needs to go ...we should just combine teams then ...they are about to move to LA maybe we can trade for MJD
Pa_Falcon_Fan
thank you very much pa ...very eerie ..we in similar situation like Giants wereQuestions about Eli ...like RyanHC now on hot seatEli and Ryan are very VERY similar QBs (almost identical size, average to slightly above average arm strength, average speed but very good football minds). We all know Ryan isn't the most physically talented QB in the NFL but I really believe he can be as successful if not more so than Eli has given the right coordinator. WIth a new OC and a new DC they went on to win the Super Bowl.I was thinking the Buccaneers in 2002 at first, but Gruden retained Monte Kiffin as defensive coordinator.Same thing happened with the Steelers in 2007; new HC and new OC, but same DC with LeBeau. Pa_Falcon_Fan
maybe Patriots? weis and crennelThe Pats changed both OC and DC in 2006 and ended up in the AFC Championship game that year. The following year (2007) they lost the the afore mentioned New York Giants in the Super Bowl.I'm poking to see if there are others.

Pa_Falcon_Fan
FYI... Saints in 2009 did it as well. In 2008 their OC was Doug Marrone and their DC was Gary Gibbs. When they won the Super Bowl in 2009 they had new OC Pete Carmichael and DC Gregg Williams.

pr0d1gy
Honestly, losing both OC's is usually the last step before the HC loses his job. I hope we give Smitty a couple more years but 2012 could be his last hurrah if he doesn't get it done. Arthur knows this city is ready for a real winner. Pa_Falcon_Fan
Patriots lost Crennel and Weiss and did itIt wasn't in the same year. Weiss and Crennel left after the 2004 Super Bowl win. New coordinators were brought in in 2005. It took the two more years (2006 they reached the AFC Championship game) to reach the Super Bowl again (2007) where they lost to the Giants.
