FlyHighFalcons
First order of business is our coordinators. BVG is already gone, and I think that Mularky will be gone either way. So:Hire Steve Spagnulo at defensive coordinator. He has been successful with defenses before, is our best option and could really coach up some of these dlinemen who have a lot of potential.Hire Todd Haley at offensive coordinator. I think this coordinator pair is perfect for us.Our free agents:Resign: Chris Redmen, QB; Harry Douglas, WR; Michael Palmer, TE; Todd McClure, C (one year, cheap); Vance Walker, DT; Curtis Lofton, MLB; Eric Weems, WR; Joe Zelenka, LS; James Sanders, S (good depth), Brent Grimes, CB.Let walk: Jason Snelling, RB; Antone Smith, RB; Mike Peterson, LB; Kelvin Hayden, CB; Thomas DeCoud, FS.Release:Kroy Biermann, DE. He has been a fan favorite, but I just don’t think he’ll produce enough. If we’re going to add another DE, we’ll have to cut one from the rotation. Edwards would likely cost too much to just cut, and he’ll get at least two years.Sign:Michael Griffin, FS, Tennessee Titans. He has been inconsistent, but he has played at a pro bowl level. I think that he would be able to consistently play at a pro bowl level if he is on a playoff team every year (which yes, we have the talent to be).Robert Mathis, DE, Indianapolis Colts. HE HAS DWIGHT FREENEY THOUGH!? We have Abe. We have two solid DTs, too. The Colts don’t have that. He’s from an Atlanta, his career is wrapping up and the Colts have a lot of money decisions to make. He could easily slip through the cracks.Draft:2. Mike Adams, LT, Ohio State. With no real LT options on the team or in free agency, we have to take a shot here.3. Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana. With us resigning Grimes, and cutting Dunta just being way too expensive we don’t have the money to throw at yet another CB so we hope that a rookie can help us there. Johnson has great size at the corner position.5. Darius Fleming, OLB, Notre Dame. With Peterson finally moving on, we need more depth at the OLB spot. Nicholas hasn’t been very good for us so maybe Fleming could be a future starter.6. Terrance Ganaway, RB, Baylor. It’s not like RGIII didn’t have a little help at Baylor. I watched all Baylor games this year because I’m a HUGE RGIII fan, and Ganaway stood out as the 2nd best player on the team (even better than the WRs).7. Derek Dennis, OG, Temple. A project OG. We have had a million before, but the 7th round is always a project guy.
J-RoC770
Keep Snelling for the backup RB/FB spots
HouseofEuphoria
Kelvin Hayden was obviously the best DB we had on the field when he was healthy.Releasing him would be foolish at this point, unless his toe is a huge issue.
vel
Nicholas hasn't been very good for us? He was hurt the last few games and is a very solid LB. Plus, he just signed a 5 year contract. I do think we go after Mathis though. I think Nicks and Grubbs are priority #1 unless they like Johnson. Biermann is a FA so he wouldn't have to be released. And Haley is reported to be going back to Arizona most likely. The Haley signing is least likely as he had a rift with Pioli, who TD is really in tune with. If Pioli dumped him, I doubt TD reaches for him. Mean Machine
Robert Mathis, DE, Indianapolis Colts. HE HAS DWIGHT FREENEY THOUGH!? We have Abe. We have two solid DTs, too. The Colts don’t have that. He’s from an Atlanta, his career is wrapping up and the Colts have a lot of money decisions to make. He could easily slip through the cracks.Mathis will not slip through any cracks. IF the Colts don't resign him, (which I believe they will) he will be on the top of most teams list.I agree with the Coordinators, coaching make all the difference, just look at when Smitty arrived and pushed everyone across the team to tryout for the starting roles. We were able to turn 2 practice squad OL (Clabo and Dahl) into starters immediately.
Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
I like the Mathis idea. Colts are gonna be too wrapped up in the whole Peyton/Luck ordeal to worry about him.. we could probably get him fairly easy if we wanted
MilleniumFalcon
You forgot Resign John Abraham. I think our secondary can be good if Hayden is healthy and a #2 behind Grimes, Dunta moving down to nickelback.
LADBABY
I think we saw enough of Svitek for us to think he is a keeper. He could be very effectiveat guard or re-trained to play center. He is a Stanford grad which means he is smart. I thinkhe could be a valuable part of the 2012 offensive line. We need a more ideal left tackle withproto-typical size, quickness and power. Zodiac
Getting rid of Dunta is the biggest priority this offseason, once we get rid of him we'll be able to go forward much more efficiently. After that we need to get Grimes and Lofton resigned ASAP, and than grab either Finnegan or Williams.Than go after Gaither in FA. Finally finish it off by trading for John Dwyer (6th or 7th rounder)Than I'd address the needs in draft as such; OG, FS, TE, WR, OC

The Redskins did with Haynesworth. The Falcons just need to follow suit. Look at their defenses after they cut the dead weight. That money would be more useful with the Grimes' household. jfalconsp
Keep Abe or let him walk?
jfalconsp
I also think we need to make OG a higher priority than for our 7th round pick, or possibly FA.
A-TowN.-
We won't get either coordinator. Michael Griffin is just as inconsistent as DeCoudMathis and Abraham would be nice. Mike Adams at LT = **** no. Rest of the picks are okay, nothing done to really help our OL or secondary. I'd be pissed if that's how our draft went.
