FalconJim
It concerns me somewhat, that both our coordinators are "jumping ship". Especially, since we've played some decent football the last four years.....excluding the Playoffs, of course. Any thoughts why this has happened? PokerSteve
You know something about MM leaving the rest of us haven't heard or are you just speculating?
philosophico
Yeah, only 1 is officially gone and he wont be missed. Maybe we can get a real nfl defense now.
Aftermath
48-21, 45-16, and 24-2 are why this has happened. I think it is telling that BVG made a lateral move to the college ranks, he knew time was up, either for him or for the team. He is the only one that jumped ship, Mularkey will simply be let go. {Mojo-Risin}
He left before he would be fired. Would it be this year? With Smith, I doubt it but next year probably.
paulitik
It's the only thing I don't feel bad about right now. This has been a miserable couple days. I'm upset they didn't commit Harakiri immediately after the game. They have dishonored the Falcon.
Magic Man
Heard on 680 the Fan this afternoon that after the NO game, both MM and BVG were told if they got any other opportunities to go ahead and pursue them. In other words "we don't want to fire you but you can't coach here next season".

FalconJim
You know something about MM leaving the rest of us haven't heard or are you just speculating?Well, it's common knowledge now that he has, or will have, an interview with the Jags, and possibly others, and really no secret he would like to be a HC again, some day. Therefore, I guess it is speculation at this point.....but I'm certainly not alone. I'm alright with MM's departure, but must say, I was a little shocked to hear BVG was leaving. He made the most of what he had to work with, in my opinion, and steadily improved his defense every year he was here, winding up with 6th best against the rush, and 12th overall. I would like to have seen what he could do next year, especially, if they got him some better players either through the draft, or FA. Brehus
MM has no contract and we are not offering him a new one why wouldn't he look for another job

Who said it, and what was their source? But really, I can see TD doing that....but not Smith....to his detriment.Seems to me, like he's just a little TOO loyal to his players and coaches, tomake the hard decisions that need to be made, sometime. Of course, I may be totally wrong, who knows.....he may be a TIGER behind closed doors. :-) Edited January 10, 2012 by FalconJim

madman88
BVG n MM both were lookin for other jobs before the game... The performance we displayed showedchanges needed to be made... To have a talent on defense n cnt come up with better scheme to get a pass rush is rediculious.. but Wats worse is the offense couldn't get a point... One f'in point, u deserve to get fired before u even reach the plane.... Happy to see the chances of wat this team can be with better coaches... uup115
Who would tell their staff that before the playoffs?!?!? If thats the case you can understand now why the gameplan was so horrid in this game. The same moron that thought trading 5 picks was a good idea for a WR...Blank has sent this franchise in a tailspin...we are depleted of talent and BVG was smart to move on before the losing starts next season. JBourneMurkedU
You guys assume dumb ****. Even if that statement is true which sounds like fluff from some fan pulling chains, it's common courtesy to allow employees to pursue better opportunities. What you don't think TD had an understanding that Mike Mularkey's main goal is to be a HC again? **** maybe even BVG clarified that he may be interested in getting back to the college game. Crap probably isn't true anyways.
