KillaBMF
I know I know, once again the falcons choked like a 5 dollar hoooker. But tbh if you saw the regular season you KNEW we weren't gonna go to any kinda championship with that team. This team HAS the pieces to be extremely special, so what do you blame when the talent is not producing?COACHINGDefenseI dont care what you say Van Gorder was forced out. DC from pros to college is a demotion. Regardless I am so happy to hear that news because i cringed everytime i saw all that speed, talent, and hitting ability in a soft zone like everybody on the team is 35-40 years old. LET THIS DEFENSE SWARM. Get a D Coordinator with so intellect, and balls.Im campaining Spag or Singletary this offseason. Think what Wade Phillips did in only one SEASON!Dunte had a Horrible Season but you cant blame him. gordor tried to make him what he is not. A ten yards deep zone corner. THIS MF is a PRESS CORNER! Thats all he did in houston you cant change a guys style like that!Ray Edwards. Dont hate on him. He is new and just came in off injury, and still stopped the run. He will come strong next year mark my words. You guys said the SAME thing when Abraham came to Atlanta and had only 4 sacks. Next year he had 16!!Decoud. You gotta go buddy. You are small but you WERE go cause you cover your azz off. Not anymore apparently. Sanders and Willy Mo will be a deadly combo!OffenseMalarkey. you gotta go buddy. YOU ARE SOOOO PREDICTABLE. There have be games where i completely called the first five drives before the ball was even SNAPPED. There is too much talent on that side of the ball for 2 points. You cant put it on just one game. Put it on all 4 years man, We need a fresh great spontaneous offense mind to guide Matt Ryan, and call the best plays for him. Brees was nothing without Payton. In green bay there back up QB put up 500 yards? Offense is a chess game and you make our Kings look like pawns. Change to the right coordinator, Our Offense will SHINE i can put money on it.Julio has a year under his belt and will be insane next yearRoddy, hopefully he know that NFL can be humbling if you get too cockyTurner. you need to you get your agility back or gtfo. you look like a broke mans Brandon Jacobs the last two seasonO-Line. Its obvious you suck so im not gonna go there. TD you better handle that! and quickMike Smith, you are safe now. BUT BARELY. You made some bone-headed calls but honestly even if you didnt we werent going to superbowl regardless. Stick to what your good at. Motivating. If they follow this blueprint. We will be a THREAT next year. If not. Same ol Same ol.
hiawasseefalcon
DING. DING. DING!!!!!!!!!!You sir.................are correct! high impact
I like what you have. I just hope they can find the players to fill the gaps on the line. Also they need someone for the OC that will plan to win the games and not try to play scared.

hiawasseefalcon
How are Ray and DRob given a pass but Decoud is not? They all played in the same schemeI really would like to see Ray after one more year. JA55 also only had 4 sacks after his first year here. The next year he had 14.DRob is a man corner. THE REAL point is that we need ANOTHER MAN CORNER and move Grimes to the NICKLE to cover the small shifty slots in space.Oh yeah....and actually play jam up man press to screw up the elite passers timing on passing downs. atlGM
Agree with everything this post says. Not so sure we need grimes to play the slot tho. When healthy he a top 5 corner in this league man or zone. I would add that we better do some efficient scouting because a pass eushing d end is ginna be essential to our succes goin foward.i would also have to say that this needs to be smitty's last year if we see no improvement offensively . Granted the defense has played above there talent level they stull are not what they can be and that supposed to be what smith hangs his hat on.And turner can stay but he no longer needs to carry the full load. Quizz and snelling both hit the whole harder and can do more from a passcatching standpoint. Imo I would trade him now y he still has any value left. FalconJim
Yeah, it may be a simple fix (or 15), but we've got to have coaches who know how to do it. Hopefully, we can get some smart-minded coordinators in here, and get 'er done!!! And, we need to be VERY diligent in free-agency this year, since we won't have a lot of good picks in the draft....as well as sign our won guys who will be FA's, but ONLY the ones who have performed. And with that said, there's a lot of "dead wood" that needs to go!!!
PSSSHHHRRR87
I agree with you on your opinion on the defense. We DO have a wealth of speedy, hard-hitting guys on this team and have been misued under BVG. I want to see this team playing press coverage, man on man and institute some blitzing in. COMPLETELY TRASH SOFT ZONE AND NEVER USE IT AGAIN!!!!!
fansince78
I was expecting something less comprehensible due to your condescending thread title.Yeah...it would have been better if it was titled "go ahead and be an idiot of you want". Well, maybe not, but it would have gotten more reads.
Miller2Rison
I made a similar post and i agree, BVG should have been fired immediatly after the green bay game last year but they elected to give him another shot and the talent on defense made this number 12 defense but with a defensive mastermind we could be in the top 5. Mike Mularkey, i would love to see charlie weiss come in, i think about the young tom brady years and brady quinn in notre dame.
Falconz4life
I want to see Singletary or Spags as our D coordinator....even Raheem would not be bad either. All of them to me would gain the respect of our players and none of them use the Zone D we all have painfully seen for years. Now just want to wait to hear MM gone...would like to have Billick...which I don't see far-fetched...everything you mentioned though is exactly on point as well. The only other thing I hate watching is Turner NOT run! It's like he walks up to the line and says "Yep no hole here ok I will lay down now." He is not a terrible back...he just does not have that burst to get you those 1-2 yards you desperately need in those situations, if the hole is not there it seems like he just falls down and says ok I'm done! It will be interesting what happens this off-season. Everything has been great this far we just need a few tweaks and the future will be fantastic. It has been nice regardless though to at least have a team who has been relevant for 4 years running...as much as I or as all of us want the Superbowl it still has been great as a fan to have these good times! Keep them coming!

FalconFanForLife
Good post, but can't agree with any of you on Turner. The guy still has it, as proven by his production behind our pitiful O-line.
newgafatboy
agreed, i didnt expext the team to so to the big game anyway, and if this embarassing trouncing is what it took to get rid of BVG and hopefully MM, thank god for it. turner is a godd runner when there is a hole big enough to drive a truck thru, but he doesnt have that attacking mentality, he walks/sidesteps to the line and if there isnt a hole seems to just lay on the pile, id like to see a back either blow the O-lineman's back up and teach em to make a hole when the play is called that way, or have the ability and speed to bounce outside for at least a short gain. can you imagine if Turner had Peterson's mentality, he'd kill somebody
Diehard Falcon Est. 1998
You can't put Grimes in the Nickel, he's too small, Hayden is a good fit there, he's a bigger corner, you can't put someone as small as Grimes to play the middle of the field.Decoud, yea he needs to go, too small to play safety and he plays like it as well, Moore and Sanders on the other hand are some big hitters. Sanders' coverage is shakey, but he can still make good plays, especially around the line-of-scrimmage.Line backers, no complaint there, except that stupid soft zone where they ALWAYS throw it over Lofton's head. Can't believe neither Spoon or Lofton got a Pro-Bowl selection.D-Line was solid up until the last month of the year, the sacks starting coming on, but the rushing yards allowed went WAY up as well.I wish we had Wade Phillips again, remember those days? When we were the first team in history to beat Green Bay in Lambeau in the playoffs, thanks to our defense. Now our defense is so easy to throw against, all they need to do is get good protection and wait for someone to get wide open in the middle, how many times did Brees hit Colston over the middle on us this year? Especially on 3rd down.Maybe someone should remind our coaching staff that we have a young man named Harry Douglas. He is an explosive player, he could become our Jordy Nelson if we were to incorporate him more, and he worked on his hands. But he has big play potential. We have Julio, Roddy, Harry, Tony, Turner, Quizz and even Snelling. Why isn't our O in the top 5...even the top 10!?!
