Does Anyone Think The Axes Start Falling Tomorrow?

Recommended Posts

looking back at the previous 4 season it is hard to imagine that we have only played 3 more games than those teams that fired their coaches the very next day.

I ma not saying smitty but something has to change and if those oher teams are pissed how about our FO and especially the onwer.

if not tomrrow, then how soon???? there are some good coaches that wont be there long

I think they will keep MM around until he's interviewed. Fans will be pizzed, but I think they will do him the favor of not firing him and letting him transition smoothly. That said, if he's not hired for either job, I don't think his contract is renewed since it is up this year.

If the axe is going to fall on BVG, it may well fall tomorrow.

JMO, I hope that if we fire people tomorrow, it's because we were planning to do so & not as a knee jerk reaction to the Giants game. For the coaches who were fired after the season, those FO's & owners had decided long before that day to make the firing.

we beat 1 team with winning record all year....we ALL know what the issues are.

I will be appalled if there are no changes tomorrow.

I personally belive MM has to go especially with remarks like this.

However, not all of the blame falls on the quarterback. Rather than challenge defenses with aggressive play-calling, Atlanta has played scared.

“We talked about trying to establish the running game because we didn’t think we could pass protect,” said Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who was limited to five catches for 52 yards with a long of only 21 yards. “We played right into their hands. I mean, if they sack us every down and we can’t move the ball, OK. But let’s try.”

White’s remarks echo private comments of several other players who have pointed at a disconnection who offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey’s approach. Numerous players believe Mularkey is too conservative, particularly in tense situations like the playoffs.

Or as one player put it: “Something has to be said to [coach] Mike [smith] this offseason.”

If this staff remains intact for next year, I will join the Bowling League and wait until Mr. Blank grows a pair and then I will start watching my team again.

Average is not good enough.

This city has been waiting over 40 years for a Trophy and the FANS deserve coaches that want it the same.

I don't see anything happening until at the very least MM has his interviews and the Head Coaching positions he is up for is decided on. They will not hurt his chances by firing him before then.

Outside of that I really don't think any other changes will be made, but I sure hope something is done.

Other than that our best chance of change is free agency, because the draft is most likely not going to bring any immediate impact players.

Mularkey doesn't deserve that. If anyone embarrassed Blank, it was him, not making the most of what he was given. He better hope the Jags decision comes tomorrow, because if you ask me, he shouldn't have been let on the plane.

Sorry, but my tolerance of Mularkey ended when the clock hit 00:00. I never liked him, but wasn't on board with firing him during the season. Season's over. Buh BYE.

YEP, "Full-o-Mularkey" needs to move on. I didn't like it when they hired him, and I like it a LOT LESS now. Apparently, he just doesn't have the "smarts" to get the most out of the offensive talent we have. But like someone else said, I don't think they'll fire him....I think they'll let him go ahead and take another position elsewhere.

And I think, BVG had our defense as ready to play as we could be (with the talent we have....they just got wore out, from being on the field all day! So I say keep him, and try to get some better players on the defensive side of the ball, either through the draft, or FA.

It's a BUMMER, to reach the playoffs 3 times in the last 4 years, and not get a win. But, I think it's coming, if TD & Co. will make some wise moves this off season. Can't wait 'til April, and the draft!!!

Precisely. Yesterday's game might be the 'icing on the cake', in a putrid, horrible tasting icing and cake kind of way, but it should only be a 'confirmation' of what the FO already knew or had already planned for.

Sometimes you have to speak out and I commend him for that because I can imagine that it gets frustrating following a conservative system.

oh the irony kevin gilbride called a very conservative game also it was 7-2 at the half, the difference is they could actually run the ball, and they have a qb that can actually manage a pocket, and make plays when the pocket breaks down, this was a matty ice melt down, he looked like blaine gabbert out there yesterday.

I notice that too when the pocket breaks down other QBs break our backs by making plays but, not our QB he looks for where he can throw the ball away.
