Creative
I don't fully understand how the contract works for these two. Considering we have a ___ amount of money to spend on players yearly, and Edwards and Robinson make a large chunk, how can we get rid of them? Simple question but I'm not sure anybody knows. If we cut them, do we pay for the remainder of the deal? Just this year? Another option, can we restructure?Lastly, we could trade them, but another team would take on the identical contract, right? Nobody sane would do that. Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
I could see us getting rid of Dunta this offseason but not Ray. They'll give him another year to be productive but if that fails then my guess would be happy trails my friend. Unless we can land Mario Williams and sign Abe back, then we might cut Ray. THE ICEMAN
Robison yes it be pretty easy cut him. But Edwards I dout that because the deal was just inked plus Robinson got most of his money in year one via the signing bonus

I'm pretty sure you can'y just cut a player in the middle of a deal and not have a penalty in the cap.
Xx FaLcOhoLiC Xx
Maybe we can get him to restructure his contract to a lower price and then cut him because quite frankly he's not worth nowhere near what we're paying him. Dunta either

He wasnt even good on the vikings where he had jared allen and the williams wall. and if he didnt do good with them he will never do good. Creative
I'm not blindly hating on Edwards due to something like sack count. Overall he was unproductive in all facets of the game. Hardly touched the QB.
crucifixz
Did Ray even play?.....I think I saw his Jersey out there but not his body...

Robb4242
Dunta signed a 6 year, $57,000,000 deal that ends in 2015. He'll have a big cap hit that we will have to eat if we cut him.Edwards signed a 5 year, $30,000,000 deal that also ends in 2015. So that's another huge cap hit to take.I doubt we can dump either of them w/o getting into salary cap ****.
B_Lo_Touchdowns
Edwards isn't going anywhere $30 mil for what 12 games Don't Think So. DRob's remaining contract is kinda pricey but his value has dropped due to scheme we play. No one will take the trade unless its a package deal. {Mojo-Risin}
I'd get an upgrade over Chris Owens and Franks before dumping Robinson.

Dunta eitherrestructure does not work like that. restructure just changes how the money is paid, but the same amount is paid. you cant restructure so they take a smaller contract. slamee101
With their contracts and TDs reluctance to cut ties with big mistakes I fear we'll be stuck with both of these guys.
madman88
Man I'm tired of seeing dunta with these concentration issues... He has one every ******** game and they always go for eithier a TD or 20+ yds.... Edwards was a non factor like all year... Tough decisions this offseason TD
JustinTJ
Dunta will make it till 12, possibly 13 at best. Then he's gone. 3/5/2010: Signed a six-year, $57 million contract. The deal contains $25.5 million guaranteed, including a $7 million signing bonus. Robinson will also receive $5 million in option bonuses. 2011: $5.5 million (+ $3 million roster bonus), 2012: $6 million, 2013: $7 million, 2014: $9 million, 2015: $9.5 million, 2016: Free Agent.
