pren226
BRING 'EM HOME TD!!!Out of all the options we could pursue if MM leaves, Friedgen would be an awesome pick up.
The Don™
I did some more research on the guy. I like what I see.
vel
Peyton for Director of Personnel when Snead leaves! Haha but seriously, Fridge would kill with this offense. It would seriously be insane. He has cojones in his pants and can make his personnel work. He has coached since 69 and is still relevant. That means he can keep up with the game and ADJUST. Plus, he has success to his name. Mularkey doesn't
A-TowN.-
Wanted Ralph last year when we thought MM would be getting a HC job. Still love the thought of it.
Peyton
Dear Mr. Blank,Mr. Friedgen is wondering if you have looked over the resume he sent in and he is wondering when he can expect to be called in for an interview.

Peyton
Who do you like for our DC?Hmmm. I don't really have a passionate favorite with that one, but I think Mike Nolan would be a great addition.I think the Falcons personnel could pick up the 3-4 pretty well. As a matter of fact, i think Biermann might be much better as a 3-4 OLB than as a 4-3 DE.

hiveredtech
amen....he is an offensive genius...led teams to championships almost everywhere he has been and always with lesser talent...and he lives in the Atlanta area already.
norbendon
I like his offensive philosophy quite a bit. The question is whether he can transition to the pros.
g-dawg
I like his offensive philosophy quite a bit. The question is whether he can transition to the pros.he was an OC for the San Diego Chargers for a few years.
falcons4life
I really dont know why some are so high on this guy. His resume consists of 5 years in the NFL, 3 as an OC back in the early 90's, and a 75-50 record as a college head coach.Whats the fascination? I'm being serious here, tell me why this is the guy?? norbendon
he was an OC for the San Diego Chargers for a few years.Didn't know that. I only followed him when he was the HC/OC for Maryland. He always came up with good gameplans against my Noles.
BiGPoPPa101
he runs alot misdirection plays, i formation plays, option plays, whatever type of players he gets he knows how to get the most out of his players. He took san diego to the superbowl. If he got the right talent with our offense of team he can make this team to the superbowl. Very creative with his playbook but the only knock i would have is his playcall is 50/50 run and pass. What he is also good at is play calling is very unpredictable cuz he runs the ball when teams think we passing and he passes the ball when teams think we running. Also was the coordinator for the biggest comeback in college football history. He got Georgia Tech a national title at GT with an unstoppable offense full of guys nobody ever heard of.He helped an NFL team get to a Super Bowl with Stan Humphries, probably the least talented QB to ever play in a Super Bowl.He made Joe Hamilton into Heisman Trophy runner up, when no other school would even let Joe Hamilton play QB.He made George Godsey, a guy whose arm makes Matt Ryan's look like a howitzer, look like Joe Montana. He took Maryland to the Orange Bowl the first year they were there, and they had not had a winning record in like a decade before that. And he won ACC Coach of the Year the same year he was fired.I find his resume quite tight. Peyton
Well, at least I know why the fascination. Thanks for the info.I admit, I grew up a GT fan. Most of these GT fans are going to love the idea of Ralph Friedgen as OC.During the Hamilton and Godsey years, the GT offense was not only awesome, it was spectacularly fun to watch. jluk
We don't need a total revamp on offense. Especially a OC thats been engrossed in the college scene that long. Sure he has a few years with the Chargers but nobody was really thrilled or impressed with his ideal. Hes package on offense won't translate well into the offense and NFL. The Panthers did tranistion Cam's Auburn offense just fine but they have a proven offense. Going 2-10 in a weak ACC division makes you wonder if he can make it work for our team. YardBird
Ralphie would be a terrific move! I actually wanted him instead of Smitty at the time. Never saw a better play caller or a guy who can get the most out of mediorce talent at any level...

roddyyoudaman
I wouldn't be opposed to this. He has been out of the NFL for a little over 10 years now, that is really my only concern.
