hooshman
Then it's goal was successful. Julio had 7 plays of over 40 yards. This is compared to White who had 1, HD who had 2, and Turner who had 4.Julio Jones doubled the amount of explosive plays. What about Last year you say?Roddy had 2 plays of over 40 yards, but this happened in one game vs the bengals.Turner had 1, Jenkins had 2, and Douglas had 1.I get my stats from ESPN game log. This was just a quick glance at longest play plus a closer play by play look if there was a possibility of another long play. Was the price for Julio worth it? All I know is that we got what we drafted AKA explosive play maker
paulitik
As much as I dislike the Mularkey philosophy, the offense has looked more like I wanted it to since the bye. Credit whereit's due.

Can't think about next season yet...but look out!!!

Can't think about next season yet...but look out!!!I dislike the fact we keep going on about what he cost...I love the aggressiveness to go get him and now the move is done it really does make TD look like he's found another great player going foward.I'll say it now JJ will be a great WRer going foward possibly consistent Pro Bowler the only thing stopping him is injury as all the intangibles are there he really is a can't miss for me. Hustle Up
I think Julio has been amazing. Consider there were no OTAs to start the season and the extra off the field work you need to get familiar with the offense (especially for rookies). He's not our #1 receiver like AJ is to the Bengals. Yet the guy still had close to a 1000 yards with missing 2 full games and several quarters. You have to be pleased with Julio. As far as the picks given up I will contend that TD and Mr Blank have a contingency plan to make up or some of it through free agency. Credit whereit's due. It's only going to get better. I want the Falcons to do well this year, but I expect a lot more for next year. Ryan will be in his 5th year, and Julio will be another year smarter. We still need a few more pieces, but my guess is that we will score a great FA lineman, and our defense will improve with some added depth. Next year, is when I think this team starts dominating (barring major injury). At which point all bad talk about Mularkey disappears. Rajhae Battle
I've always said that even if you felt that it was pricey, The Julio trade would pay off. Think about it who could we have gotten at pick 20 something last year or this one that you could insert from day 1 with no training camp ota's & such, & by mid season he is not only performing but in some cases dominating. Then you see that pick getting better right before your eyes, plus because he's a team guy, you see your unit as a whole get better. Those picks are hard to come by, you can draft depth & future starters every year, but not superstars. In the end this pick will prove to be well worth the price Edited January 5, 2012 by Rajhae Battle

Faithful Falcon
true but your offense scored pretty much the same amount of points as the year beforeYes, but with 3 less wins. Think about it. Our defense is still coming around, but we won a lot of nail biters last season. We also have more drops this season, more penalties, and less protection on the QB. Turner has less carries, and far less better blocking. If we had Julio last season, then the Green Bay game would have been a little different.
