Weather Factor... Advantage Falcons

Recommended Posts

I just saw the weather for this weekends game is supposed to be a rainy 44 degrees. We may be a Dome team, but that weather actually works very much in our favor given the nature of our offense.

Rain tends to slow things down which means speed guys like Cruz (and yes, Jones) might not be as big of a factor as they would be on a clear day. Rainy days tend to be ruled by the better running game/better run defense.... and we are decidedly better at both!

Rushing:
Falcons - 17th in total rushing yards
Giants - 32nd in total rushing yards
Run Defense:
Falcons - Ranked 6th in run defense
Giants - Ranked 19th in run defense

I think this could be the deciding factor this weekend. If Turner can run like he did last week and our run D continues doing what they do I think we will grind out a win.

True. But usually in those situations both teams stack the box and neither is able to get much rushing offense going. Then the game is usually decided by turnovers.

The ball is wet, the ground is slippery, hands are cold... It really will be all about not turning it over. This still favors the Falcons because Turner rarely fumbles. Gonzalez almost never fumbles and he also should be a main target when we do throw the ball. Also, Ryan has gone 16 quarters without an INT.

102 rating since the bye. 20 TDs 4 picks.

Good observations. Unfortunately, it gives Roddy another excuse for dropping passes! Let's hope he finds some 'stickum' for his hands for the playoff run! wink.png

True, but I'm going to this game, and I swear to God I better not drive 4 hours to a game to get poured on just to have the Falcons lose, they better win ******!

thats exactly why i decided not to go.. i had an offer of $330 for 2 tickets but checked the weather before i bought them.
