Positive Points About The Game This Sunday

Recommended Posts

1) Giants this season allowed more points than they scored. Of 120 playoff teams from 2002-2011 only 7 teams can say that.

2) Giants finished last in NFL in rushing (89.2 yards per game) for first time since 1953

3) Take away Cruz and our path to victory is much easier -- He's the first player with 4 TDs of more than 70 yards since Otis Taylor of the AFC Chiefs did it in 1966. His 5 TDs of at least 65 yards are second most in NFL history. Elroy (Crazy Legs) Hirsch had 6 in 1951.

Cruz is a big dude, doesn't mean there aren't big dude's on the Falcons that can stop him. No Reason to panic at this point. I honestly do not trust the OC or DC. But who knows, with the OC being in the spotlight he might just try something different.

We shall see......

the only reason that the run game as bad as it is has been is "working" or having an effect is because they still hand the ball off anyway. So opposing defenses still have to honor it. The Giants offense can still make use of the play action in this regard. They have only 5 or 6 games that they ran over 100. The short yardage run game sucks big time.

it was a combo of our OLine being rebuilt, Bradshaw and Jacobs being hurt alot of the season, and the success of Eli and the passing game

I was more shocked by the year. Whenever someone mentions something that hasn't happened since before Superbowl I, it kind of knocks you on your @ss.

yea its def been a while since we haven't been all about the run, but its fine. I think we have more weapons in the air anyway.

And to the OP point about Cruz. Hes having a NASTY year, but its because Nicks is getting the saftey to his side nearly every play. Do NOT sleep on Hakeem Nicks and DONT forget about Manningham

Giants fan here....Excited about the game this sunday, I believe it will be a close match up. You guys have the advantage at LB without a doubt. I am confused when you stated Cruz is a big dude....hes not that big...It will be a test for you guys bc I feel the biggest threat will be your defensive match ups, Eli will exploit Robinson alot. He did it to newman last week and most likely will target Daunta. I worry about our DL not containing Turner, that is the key, keep us away from PA passes. I am excited to see if Boley covers Gonzo, that would be sick. Anyways, good luck and well see you sunday!

Seeing as how we had Boley on Witten most of the game, i think its safe to assume he'll be on Gonzo alot this week

hey dont I know you LOL If manningham comes thru, that will be big bc besides Grimes you have robinson and hayden...Grimes is legit, but even falcon fans I know are shaky about Robs and Hayden

Tall order don't you think? Idealily, it would be nice to get pressure primilarily from our front four to minimize his effectiveness.

The thing about Victor Cruz is that the Falcons have to tackle him when he catches the ball. That dude has been turning bunt singles into inside the park homeruns all year. The dude is seriously slippery, hopefully the Falcons coaches are emphasizing that this week.

Stopping the Giants passing game is going to be a challenge for Atlanta, but I think Atlanta's WR match up against the Giants secondary pretty favorably as well.

It's gonna be a shoot out I think.

Should be the key, seems to me as of late, the Falcons have returned to what has made them successful, run first, throw in a little PA to keep defenses honest, and control TOP. here's to an injury free game

yea he def has. I dk I think we are well matched up WR wise. You have roddy/Gonzo...whos your 3rd WR? I really dont know honestly. Gonzo is a monster. We got nicks/cruz/manningham. All very dangerous. I do not think our break out TE is going to be effective bc your LB's are a monster group.

How do you honestly feel about your OL vs our DL?
