Karst41
"Rumors" already are swirling that the Eagles will hire Steve Spagnuolo to replace Castillo. Spagnuolo was fired Monday after going 10-38 as the head coach in St. Louis. He was an assistant under longtime Eagles coordinator Jim Johnson and was defensive coordinator for the New York Giants when they beat Tom Brady and the previously undefeated New England Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl. FalconFanSince1970
Careful what you pray for folks. You might just get it. Dude has had one great defense. That was the 2008 NYG defense which finished 5th in points allowed. youngbloodz
Spags is a better DC than BVG any day. BVG had one great year at UGA and he got the **** DC job of the Falcons. You can only blame the players for so long. Eventually you have to look at your defensive or offensive scheme as the problem

Karst41
It's not gonna happen until our season is over and some other team who's season is already over will get a shot at him first (ie...someone like Philly). If Spags wants to go to Philly the let him.But the guy wants to have good facilities for his players thenthat alone makes Atlanta a good landing spot for him.Why anybody here would want to retain BVG is beyond me.BVG is HORRIBLE at keeping his unit focused on the basic fundamentalsof football. Sun Tzu 7
Let's see how we handle the Giants... If we handle them the same way we handled the Saints the last time we played them then we should talk to him on the way back from NY. Peyton
The legend of Spagnuolo is a simple product of Tuck, Osi, Strahan and Eli Manning all playing their best ball for 4 weeks in a row.
Sun Tzu 7
The legend of Spagnuolo is a simple product of Tuck, Osi, Strahan and Eli Manning all playing their best ball for 4 weeks in a row.It was also the gameplan he had against the Pats where they had Tuck playing at the DT spot which gave the Pats oline problems. Snowen
You got my 150% in this.. I hope no one offers him anything before we are done, or at least TD giving him a call saying "If you wait for us before you make a decision, you can be DC here on a winning team"...please god.. make my christmas present come true. Snowen
....but spags was the HC, Flajole was the DC, when he was dc at NYG he finished ahead of the Falcons, so I feel like your basically proving he should be hired.I think the only proof you need for Spags as a DC is him being the only person to devise a gameplan to stop Tom Brady's perfect season.. that defense was monsterous, and it wasnt solely due to their players. Watch the game over again and you can tell that is a coach who knows how to run a defense against the new age NFL offenses like the Patriots. And his rams again (not with his playcalling, but definitely insight) stopped the saints this year. The guy knows defense. Hes not going to have John Abraham covering Calvin Johnson rofl
