SaintRay
PROVING THEM WRONGIn my 27 years of scouting, I have never seen any rookie quarterback with the skill set of Carolina’s Cam Newton. Newton has great size, can run with power and speed, but the most important thing has been his ability to throw the ball accurately from the pocket. Many questioned his accuracy before the 2011 NFL Draft, but he has been terrific this season completing 295-of-492 passes for 3,893 yards, a completion rate of 60 percent, 20 touchdowns and 16 pass interceptions. The 2010 Heisman Trophy winner also has rushed for 674 yards on 120 carries, averaging 5.6 yards per carry and has scored 14 touchdowns. When you think about it, can you compare Newton to any quarterback that is playing now or before him? There is no good answer and you have to say that Newton breaking Peyton Manning’s rookie passing mark is something no one would have guessed when the season started. Newton is special as a player and a leader and while the Panthers are rebuilding they certainly have a fighting chance each game because they have a unique football player at quarterback

Shore up that D, get Mare to hit a couple more make-able FGs and this team will be contending a playoff spot, no question.
#1 pick
Cam makes them look better than what they are on offense. Defense needs playmakers again.
Big Bubba
Defense definitely needs playmakers. Across the board. It was kind of sad to see Brees having all day in the pocket. I know the Saints Oline is very good, but they aren't this impenetrable unit that they showed in week 17 .. proved that without CJ, the Panthers' pass rush royally sucks.
