Surprisingly,........ getting blown out in N.O, did not upset me.

Offense gave up at the end of the first half.. I don't blame them. Last game of the year, defense giving up 20+ yards a play... why go all out, risk possible injury, for a game you gonna lose anyway?

Congrats Brees and Sproles!

Dude, you got nothing but upside next season with the Panthers.

My only concern would be keeping Cam motivated on the sidelines when things aren't rolling his way because he shows a tendancy to pout at times. The leaders on your team can help him next season.

Newton reminds me of Brady, not in talent, mind you, I mean in getting p1ssed when his team loses...getting really p1ssed off when his team loses big. This season was a learning experience for Newton. I believe he gets a "C" on his chest next season. I think that will help him rise to the occasion.

It irks me that the media only show these tightly cropped shots of Newton on the bench, leading the viewing public to assume he's always sitting by himself, isolating himself. When that's not true. Mike Shula was in front of Newton most of the game, in wee 17. In front of Newton on the bench, as they were going over plays.. It's rare that the media actually shows that though.

I'm worried about next year as a Saints fan. I have a feeling the Newton led panthers are going to start dominating this division as we have the past couple of years. A couple of tweaks on defense and this team will be scary good.

Question though. Does anyone know as to why Smith was smack talking Payton on the sideline? The game really took a turning point after that. Note to opposing teams, dont bark at Coach Sean Payton during a game. He doesn't like that very much.

Question though. Does anyone know as to why Smith was smack talking Payton on the sideline? The game really took a turning point after that. Note to opposing teams, dont bark at Coach Sean Payton during a game. He doesn't like that very much.

Looked like defenders were taking little hits at Smith after the whistle was blown, a lot. Seemed like he was getting in Payton's face, asking wth was up with that. That's my take on it anyway.. I could be wrong.

Hopefully............the Panthers get Beason back healthy next season, and Rivera fixes the defense up.........so at least the D can take little hits at the Saints offense after the whistle is blown. That's the only way a defense can beat the Saints offense.

Yea, the Saints are dirty.

As for Smith, I see him constantly running his mouth from play one. I wondering what he's saying sometimes especially when I see cool guys like Greer react.

Probably just asking if everyone had some good holidays...cool.png

Lol i know what your saying. Imo there's a little opi, but hey luckily he got away with it. looks like the nearest zebra is behind him and couldn't see it.

You know, on a serious note, that's the kind of stuff Roddy used to get away with also, until his reputation caught up with him and now the refs pull out the laundry whenever he gets near a defender.

I'm seriously not knocking Graham; he's got crunchy skillz, but I'd hate to see him get caught up with a reputation for pushing off (well, not really, but you know what I meantongue.png )

Don't get me totally wrong, it's a great catch. But when you're allowed to use a guy's head for leverage...

I agree that it was OPI but I don't think he was using the guy for leverage....I think he was just like "Get off me beeeeatch!"

Hey Saints fans, sorry for the late response. I've been on the road for a while, but I haven't forgotten the way the Saints handled that game. Hopefully I can get back soon to discuss more, but I wanted to offer my congrats here. Nicely played and good luck in the postseason.

Refs have been doing a sh1tty job all year. From Harper holding Olsen's arm behind his back on the would-be TD, that wasn't called, to even the horse collar tackle they issued the Saints, on Newton. None of it had anything to do with the outcome of the game, but a sh1tty call or non-call is still a sh1tty call or non-call. .

There has been a steady decline in the quality of Refs this season, I'm sure I'm not the only one that noticed it.

the NFL has made the job of referees nearly impossible. As pissed as I get at them, it really isn't their fault

Agreed. I don't blame the ref's; I blame Goodell and his rules. Too much room for interpretation and judgement calls. If the ref's are anything like me (and I doubt they're that awesome), they don't have a clue as to what is a "defeseless receiver", or what is "non incidental contact by the helmet or shoulder", etc. How do you NOT "lead with the helmet or shoulder" when your head is on top of your body?? Do you just throw yourself sideways at a guy??

Man, I'd love to see some linebacker give a guy the "Bobby Boucher" tackle method and dropkick him... Then make the passionate defense that he was leading "as far away from the helmet as possible!"
