Dharma Initiative
That's right. Most of the board has called for a replacement, but there isn't a runningback in the NFC with more yards. Not Lesean McCoy, not Adrian Peterson, not DeAngelo, nope, no one else in the conference.Congrats Turner on health and productivity. Had we left you in the game today who knows what crazy stats might've occured.

JBeattz
The guy is awesome. He's a great workhorse back. It works out perfectly for us that he's still REALLY good, and we no longer need him. With the offense switching over to a pass first offense, we can trade him for a high pick since he's still a top rusher. We all know he's going down hill, but other teams may not realize it, or not care and be willing to give us a high round pick or 2 for him. The only reason I feel this way is because if we keep him, its going to handcuff our passing threats as Turner takes his standard carries per game. Keeping Snelling would be fairly cheap, and hes a great runner. Him plus Jacquizz as our RBs would be more than adequate to compliment a passing attack that features RW, JJ, TG, and HD. We dont require a RB like Turner anymore. And trading him would be a very Patriot-esque move. Trading him could possibly result in a significant offensive line addition for us this offseason that would benefit both our passing and rushing game. AtlantaFalconPokerPro
Turner proved me wrong today. I thought he was too injured to be effective. Looks like he just needs a FB to guide him. This whole team manages to prove a lot of us wrong when they are playing a weak team, or a team that has given up for the season. I'll be impressed when we play a decent team with the same effort.

Point being during a 16 game season Turner is the top NFC rusher and 3rd in the NFL. Edited January 2, 2012 by SYD

Quarterback
He looked his best since his first game...better burst off the snap.Maybe resting him each of the past several Wednesdays are now paying off. We will need all offensive cylinders working to compensate for our lack of a pash rush against the better OL's & QB'sin the playoffs. We'll likely have to outscore some folks to advance with a BVG coached defense.
d#d#d#
A thousand of his yards came against bum teams with a bum rush defense. How did he go versus the Aints last week?Short memories in here
JDaveG
Tells me he was used too much. What happened to splitting up carries more equally so he doesn't get worn down? In the Saints game, I think he had 12 of 14 carries (with Ryan and Quizz having the other two). Yesterday, obviously, the other two got more carries since we were in garbage time. But I sure would rather have the no. 1 rushing offense than the no. 1 rusher.

That exact scenario is set up next week. Shut me up Turner. Run wild on the NY Giants. Please.
Remarkable
Turner always does very well whenever he gets some help from his blockers. You can't ask a guy to constantly juke multiple tackles before he crosses the line of scrimmage.

How did he go versus the Aints last week?Short memories in hereExactly. No one listens. Then when he's shut down vs. a good team they're like" I don't know what happen. He looks slow". Like I've always said I appreciate what Turner has done for the Falcons. But right now he's a one dimensional back. This offense would be scary with an every down back that good run in the middle, the edges, sweeps, tosses, swing passes, screens, wheel routes, etc. People wonder why is MM always calling runs up the middle? Where the **** else is going to run Turner?

How did he go versus the Aints last week?Short memories in hereYep the NFL should make a new rule that Rushing yards do not count unless your playing a team with a winning record. Yep I'm sure that would be a great idea!!!3rd in the NFL, 1st in the NFC in rushing, we can only play the teams that the NFL schedules us to play, all the yards count regardless of the team we are playing. This was over a 16 game season where the NFL makes the schedules, why didn't other RB's rack up insane yards against the bad teams they played to over take Turner? It's awesome that here on the Falcons OFFICIAL message board you literally have to fight just to get praise on a player of the team. Seriously on other NFL message baords the rival sections are kinder to the teams then here on the offical forum. Rajhae Battle
Turner really looked good yesterday, even more important was the fact that he was hitting the hole hard, his biggest problem was that if the original hole was bottled up he lacked the ability to bounce it outside & just seemed to go down at that point. I've been saying all year that the ups & downs with this team have a direct connection with the swagger of confidence & the confusion of uncertainty. They know that they are better than Tampa & their performance showed, On the flip side, they are made to feel inferior to NO & GB & their performance shows there too

Steel City Falcon
I'll be the first to admit, I've said he needs to be turned into a compliment back and done as a work horse. There is no doubt that he has lost a step or two from 2008. But he did look good yesterday. All be it against a team the literally quit. I want to see him do this against the Giants, because they are going to need to bring the running game to slow down that pass rush.
Guest JoeSr
I've been on Turner's bandwagon since his college days. I don't know what the helll some of you are talking about. There were only a hnadful disliking Turner or wanting to trade/cut/waive/fire/kill him. You play the hand dealt ou and Turner did a great job this season and has been instrumental in our success over the past four seasons. Even if he does not have such a game in the post-season, I will still be the driver of this ship.I am not wishy washy like many of you are. I am impressed regardless. I dont think Turner needs to break the regular season rushing record or TD record or ypc record in a season for him to be valuable to this team. I understand he will not get 100 yards rushing every SINGLE game. I understand our o-line is weak and has been shifting all season long after no off-season.TURNER IS THE MAN AND HAS BEEN THE MAN SINCE HE HAS BEEN HERE. Why SD didn't see and understand this is beyond me, but I am glad they didn't.
