Guest Sir OC Mike Mulocky
Mike Mularkey is a joke of an offensive coordinator...the only OC i have ever heard of that has to pre plan a scripted 15 to call an nfl scoring drive.......his qb has finally mastered his pitiful offense in 4 years and refuses to turn on his headset.......the only time HD hits the field is when Julio is injured and is just as successful and when ryan calls 3 wide plays in no huddle just to keep him out there for more than one play in a row...the last screen play was in week 4 yet we cant call them anymore cause they would be on to us....we run turner on 4th and 1 into an 11 man box on our own 20 in OT.........we couldnt score past the scripted 15 in the saints nationally televised much anticipated rematch, nor the televised much anticipated grudgematch against gb..........we scored one offensive td in 5 games this year and havent beaten a single team with an above 500 record...gave t jackson his record game, made the bucks bottom defense look like the steel curtain, made tj yates look like carson palmer, and got lucky and ruined vick for that win.................we have all the talent in the world yet we got worse.....................and turned dunta robinson into eugene robinson on an hours rest after plowing an undercover cop hooker........................we suck, turner sucks, and i told you id trade turner for a db that was good and got flamed.........told you mularkey sucked, got flamed, told you smitty sucked and got flamed.....told you we couldnt beat winning teams and got flamed, i know i know..youll never admit it, but you hate that im rightgoodnightRadical 2.1 new accountgot booted for telling the truth.......i know truth hurts

Robb4242
cmon now you know soft zone with a man-to-man CB (dunta) is the best way to play! And you know that straight up man with Grimes, Owens (or Franks), & DeCoud is much better.
Robb4242
Schemes aren't the problem. Our coodinators are NFL caliber and while their schemes may not be the brand you like, they have been proven to work on this level. As fans, we tend to focus on the coordinators. Most fans do this. But I say this is a lazy thing to do.Dropped passes, poor technique leading to badly timed penalties, lack of focus and concentration - all these things that seem to plague our team are not the responsibility of the coordinators or of Smitty. It's positional coaches jobs.We might have some of the poorest positional coaches in the league. Ever hear of any of our positional coaches being mentioned as possible coordinators? Musgrave was the best positional coach we had and now he's gone. We had to go to a former coordinator to find Bratkowski. I say Smitty, BVG, Mularkey, and TD need to start holding our positional coaches feet to the flames. That means you:Robiskie - why are we still having concentration issues with Roddy?Boudreau - Baker may not be a 1st rounder, but we know he was a concesus 2nd rounder. Why is his technique so poor? Why can't we seem to find a suitable RG? What are we paying you for?Brown - We all see Turner's out of shape. He's lost his burst. His nickname is "Burner" for God's sake! Think he'd earn that nickname now? I know you're not his babysitter, but by God you are his direct supervisor! You're his coach! Why are we having weight issues now?Hamilton - Sugarbear! We all thought we were getting a steal from Jacksonville when you arrived. What the heII have you done since being here? You never got ANYTHING out of Anderson while he was here. Davis was nothing more than a role player. I see not much from Sidbury, and Biermann is more known off the field than on it. What player have you developed? You seem to be riding the coattails of Abraham just as you did in your early career with Stroud and Henderson. Where is the coaching and player development?Reynolds - Really? Do I even need to say anything? You're not even over all of the secondary. First we had Emmitt to guide you along and now we have Lewis. Are you doing anything at all because I see a team with a starting FS that has no idea what the responsibilities of a Free Safety are and still manages to take at least one poor angle every game.Pires - Why does Lofton still not have a clue as to the proper depth a MLB needs to take during pass protection? How can you let this player go on for this long trying to be a 3 down LB and he hasn't any idea? And why does NONE of our LBs have a clue how to blitz and disguise the fact they're doing so? Our DBs seem to disguise their blitzes okay, so it must not be the scheme. Why doesn't our LBs know to do this?WHAT ARE OUR POSITION COACHES DOING TO HELP THIS TEAM???There ya go, this is it bottom line. Been saying for a couple of years on some of these position coaches that they need to go (I'd like to see Lewis gone as well). The OC/DC has overall responsibility and will be held accountable, but it is the job of each of these position coaches to make sure their players are ready to execute the game plan and they have been failing at their job. The OC/DC are not out there running players through their position drills. We've won in spite of these position coaches, which actually shows that we've got a lot of talent on this roster & the schemes we run can work when the players do execute. If we fire MM & BVG but don't replace the above position coaches, it wouldn't matter if we had Vince Lombardi as our HC, Bill Belichick as our DC, & Bill Walsh as our OC, we're not going to do any better than we're doing right now. falken
What would make BVG and MM successful? How about winning close to 70% of their games? How about 4 winning seasons in a row? How about winning more games over 4 years than 27 other teams? Hmmmm....sounds like a team with a chance to me.If we had caught a few balls we could easily be 11-4 headed into our last game. I think that would have kept the naysayers at bay at least until the playoffs were over. Can you imagine that. A couple of missed balls by our WR's has people chanting and grouping together to run our coordinators out of town. Sounds silly to me.I know a lot of you guys have given up already and most of this noise follows the shellacking we took on MNF. I tell you though, these Falcons are a scarey team headed into the playoffs, and could get on a roll. We're pretty healthy coming in minus FB and LB.For the ones that have given up already I truly feel sorry for. What fun is football when you plan on losing? Don't think for a second that Matt Ryan is headed out there with the same mindset. That cat is hungry and has given his receivers enough chances to make plays this season. We could catch a tiger by it's tail over the next 5 weeks. It could be REALLY special. d#d#d#
A good deal of both IMO, execution has not been a problem in years past and the Falcons were one of the better teams at it, this year seems to be a perfect storm of small problems that could normally be overcome all happening at the same time.I think the players are sick of the conservative schemes this season and thats why we are seeing lackluster performances. Players like Abe, Spoon, Moore etc dont want to play a passive defense, they want to break faces...

The coaching staff have crapped the bed every big game that has meant anything to this franchiseI know a lot of you guys have given up already and most of this noise follows the shellacking we took on MNF. Snowen
The only thing that could make MM and BVG successful as falcons would be moving MM to TE coach, and BVG to LB coach. Anything to get them away from the playcalling and schemes really. Just keep them FAR away and we'd be superbowl bound.
Rajhae Battle
I'm willing to give MM & BVG one more year, I do think we get out coached in some of our big games. i think they have to be willing to adjust to what is happening on the field, but i really feel alot of our problems are self inflicted. Untimely dropped passes, stupid we should no better penalties, Turner out of shape, the worst tackling i have seen since pop warner, all play a bigger factor in losses then "schemes". I think we should blitz more especially on 3rd down, but if your front 4 can't put any pressure on the qb, how long will it be before the blitz gets exposed. Why can't we play bump n run man coverage, why can't we line up on 3rd or 4th & 1 & not just punch a team in the mouth for 1 yard. You tell me the O-line is not swift enough to run screen passes, but the coaches believe they can run pulling guard plays for 1 yard? We are fans but hopefully none of us are unemployed after a Falcon loss. There has to be something that tells MM & BVG that we can't do certain things, after all they are putting their jobs on the line that what they do works. I'm not saying that people can't just be wrong, but their ego's won't allow them to see it, but this is 4 consecutive winning seasons, 3 of 4 years have been playoff births, I was born & raised a Falcon fan so i remember alot of losing seasons. I hope that between AB, Smitty & crew they can concede that certain schemes just doesn't work for us,but I also have seen what the Birds can do when they really want it,That's what we have to bring out of them, if that can't happen then yes let's make a change, cuz even as bad as we played there were alot of plays that had we made the play the outcome would have been different. Go Birds Make The Play!!!.

rogueleadersf
Here's the thing......I have been back and fourth on this issue about BVG and MM all season long as have many of us....the question is.....is this a coordinator problem......or a HEAD COACH problem.??.........if everything being ran scheme wise,is the product of the the HC then there is NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THE COORDINATORS to make things better....in other words, even if both BVG and MM leave/get fired, what good will it do to bring in other to fill the position/s,if this ridiculous Defensive scheme is the brain child of Mike Smith?? It is apparent that if this is the case,he doesn't know how to effectively change it during a game to stop anyone!!we also MUST HAVE SOMEONE UP FRONT WHO CAN RUSH THE PASSER,,,55 IS NOT GOING TO BE HERE MUCH LONGER AND HE HAS BEEN A NON FACTOR AGAINST PLAYOFF CALIBER TEAMS,SORRY,IT'S TRUE,this also could be scheme related, tell me,why on 3rd and 12/16/8 etc.,do you only always rush 3 or 4?...as far as offense, sit Turner's azz and put in Snelling,I think it is plain to see that he is NOT the same guy he was a few years ago and he has been a non factor for several weeks now....don't really know how much the Ovie injury has played in this but, even before,Turner had CLEARLY lost more than just a step...Snelling is a work horse and never stops churning, have NO IDEA WHY HE IS NOT BACK THERE STARTING RIGHT NOW...,and two, more no huddle, screen passes, use HD more....MM cannot be blamed for poor online play, dropped passes, stupid penalties at the worst times.....ultimately ,it all falls on Mike Smith...I like the guy.but it looks as though he cannot change his ways,we had a week and a half to prepare for last monday night and got raped on national tv by a rival whom WE SHOULD KNOW ALL TO WELL...is this what we can expect from him for the rest of his time here?? If so,then it wouldn't matter who came in as a d or o coordinator...it's Mike's ship and they are just crew members...
