This Team Has Gotten A Few Monkeys Off Of Their Backs These Past Few Years.

Recommended Posts

So, next week. If we win, we can get all of the message board monkeys off of their backs. No back to back winning seasons in the history of the franchise. That one is gone. A lot of people will be proven wrong again.

If we win our our first playoff game and lose the second these clowns will continue to rise from the dead. Trust me.

Despite:

-back to back to back to back

-3 of 4 playoff appearances

-NFCS Championship

-Top 5 winningest NFL franchise from 2008-2011

Despite:

-back to back to back to back Compiled against bottom-feeder teams

-3 of 4 playoff appearances Which were all losses

-NFCS Championship Green Bay 48, Atlanta 21

-Top 5 winningest NFL franchise from 2008-2011 With ZERO play-off wins

Winning at least one playoff game would show that there was actually progress from last season to this season. Even wtih a worse record (even though last years record was really inflated). Not getting a single playoff win would be a HUGE disappointment and confirm to many that there is a missing element here in Atlanta...toughness.

Wow.

This is embarrassing.

I hope no Saints fans read this post.

Keep in mind...

If they don't go to the Super Bowl, they are going to be VERY disappointed.

Your assertion is that if we win a single playoff game it is an achievement of some sort. Wow.

How can we ever claim to be on the same level as the Saints?

Let me as you this...

Was Mike Smith brought here to win a single playoff game and then go home? You do realize this is like year four!

We need more realism here folks.

We gave of 5 draft picks for a single player.

If Mike Smith does not get us to the NFC Championship game he needs to be fired.

Otherwise, we can't expect to be taken seriously. And if you are honest with yourself you would acknowledge that, nationwide, we are losing more and more respect:

1) We are no longer considered that up and rising team.

2) Matt Ryan has become more of a whipping boy than golden child to national writers

3) We no longer the type of treatment from officials that we used to.

Schmitty has got to go while there is still time.

That's all good, but the NFL is all about what have you done for me lately. While I'm most apprrecitive of what this current regime has done for this organization., time to turn the page and make this team relevant when it most counts.

Not gonna happen unless we make it to the NFCC. This team has to much potential to go one and out or win 1 game and be satisfied. Super Bowl or bust. We aint no dream team but we are the..........that's all I have but you get what I'm saying

This team lacks the talent in the trenches to progress past the 1s round, sad but true.

Great turnaround for a team that hasn't had sustained success... but I mainly care about what happens in the playoffs. Kind of like the Braves in the 90's, it was a great turnaround but it was quite frustrating for disappointment after disappointment in the postseason. The Hawks were really bad but the past few years, they've turned it around into a perennial playoff contender, however, they don't go anywhere in the playoffs. I really want this program to evolve into a championship type product.

I'm a fan for 40 yrs, I live in NYC, was in ATL in '92 for the opener of the Georgia Dome, went to the game in Miami in '99 for SBXXIII, sorry, but the Monkey is still on my back, watching a College DC getting schooled week in/week out whether we win or lose, esp. having 11 days off to study the Saints last week is a joke. There is plenty better DC out there, why wait, I'm not satisfied winning 1 or 2 games sorry, this franchise' time is NOW, & YES, I will be there next February when we play! DON'T SELL YOURSELVES SHORT!

No need to take it the wrong way. It's like Thomas Dimitroff was given food stamps instead of money, and was told to build a dynasty. He came in with a diminished franchise, an always broken fan base, and rumors that the team may be moved. Every step is progress. I want to win it all every year, but if we don't. I am still a fan. If you improve, it will be noticed. So, please don't ever try to high jack any statement that I have made. If you feel embarassed by the Saints Fans, then go and suck up to them. I just tell it like it is.
