slamee101
Yea, the NFL keeps it consistent and fines guys b/c if they didn't it would be an admission that the refs blew these types of calls. Happens every other week.
ki46dinah
This shizz sickens me.Why dont they just come out and say "any intended receiver cant be touched for 2 seconds after they catch the football"? And I love how Jenkins wasnt fined for his cut block tackle at Roddy's knees on the skinny post although he was obviously defenseless. {Mojo-Risin}
All I can say is W.T.F.They are taking the most popular sport and destroying it. I will hate to see this league in ten years. Is this just the NFL's way of punishing the CBA?
kiwifalcon
I guess the officials didn't think Reggie Kelly was a defenceless reciever he got speared in the kidneys and no call no fine thats fair enough but if there going to give Lofton this fine on the basis of being a defenceless reciever,I can't see the difference between the 2 hits. sharky
You're talking bout the one when Breesanna complained b/c someone touched him? If so, that's some bullsham.

atljbo
On the hit you can see Lofton was clearly tilting his head sideways so he wouldnt hit the WR with his head...
Darkflight
What hit?
Sun Tzu 7
My question is where is the story about the Falcons asking for clarification from the NFL about the spear to Kelly and "screen pass" blocking/holding?Maybe Orlando can write more pointless articles.... He is practically useless.
pzummo
Goodell should read this article...http://www.altoonamirror.com/page/blogs.detail/display/5353/MNF-hit-reveals-flawed-rules.html
blackredfellow
They should have f***ing fined Jeff Triplette for picking up the flag for holding on Sproles, saying he was "shedding a block", and then not calling a lineman laying on top of Abe in the end zone which should have been a hold, a safety and more than likely, Breesus doesnt get a shot at the record. Makes ya think dont it. Edited December 30, 2011 by blackredfellow
sharky
That was Vance Walker not Lofton. Oh OK. I didn't see it, but I wish he could have put him out the game, not end his career but at least put him out that game.

I didn't see it, but I wish he could have put him out the game, not end his career but at least put him out that game.Actually I was hoping they would have done that towards the end of the game when they were running up the score and trying to break the record... You know show them if they want to try crap like that there is a price. But either Smith is too classy for that or it requires the defense to have pride and not tolerate stuff like that. BucFan81
Pretty sure I saw that 7 Saints players also recieved fines from that game. As an unbiased observer of that game I really do think you guys got hosed on some calls in that one. That flag that was picked up for holding on the phantom screen play had me SMH big time. didz
Thats #######. They steal money from a guy like Lofton who is as classy as they come. Thats just bs. Lofton probably spends most of his money on his family, mother etc... The NFL is going take away money from him because of a stupid really questionable hit? NFL go pick on someone else seriously.
