Say Goodbye To Harry Douglass In Free Agency

We dont use him at all. I mean the other teams are obviously giving lots of attention to Roddy and Julio, and they are both playing well, but you think if Brees had a weapon like that they would let him rust? Quick screens would be nice. Anything to use his speed, but i guess thats too much for MM. He will want to go to a team that throws him the ball. Some team will pay him and he will be like a Wes Welker. Im thinking Philly or Chicago. Cutler would love that guy.

Sadly he will be gone if we keep MM. He is very underutilized here and with the flashes he has shown this year pre-season included I bet you a lot of GM's have taken notice.

He's gone and we will watch him light it up for Philly or someone next year. I wouldnt even be surprised if the Patriots got him

You are right on. I can't even imagine him with Brees or Rodgers.

The funny part about it is at work we have been discussing HD and Ryans inability to connect with him since last season. QB's like Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Big Ben, etc..... would have a field day with him. It will be sad to see him walk but if it happens I will continue to root for him until he plays us lol

And this will be the key factor if he stays or goes... is if MM stays or goes. If had someone that ran a Martz-style offense and had the o-line capable of handling that kind of pressure, HD would re-up in a heartbeat because I do believe he likes it here in ATL.

Yes, I think we will be a valuable weapon on another team. I think he would be an awesome player in the Packers, Saints, and Patriots systems. Maybe with teams like the Lions and Bengals as well. He will be another one that if let go, we will then see the true potential that he had.

We havent used him right at all. Quick screens and short routes like Wes Welker would have been perfect for HD. Even a reverse now and then. He's got great hands too.

We could have done those quick screens and short routes all day. The question is would there had been a good throw by Matt. For some reason those 2 just cannot connect on certain plays

Sad to say but this could well be the case for me the reason why HD gets no balls thrown his way is because he's Ryans 3rd or 4th read in Ryan's progression and with JJ Roddy and TG I'm afraid that leaves HD on the outside looking in he's probably not even in the game 1st or 2nd down so this will also hinder his production. Also with him being the 4th option in Ryan's progression on 3rd down mostly Ryan doesn't really have time so again this also back pedals HD's getting the ball.

I love HD and it would be a shame to let him walk I think the guy has all the intangibles to be a good 3rd or 4th WRer but for some reason MM doesn't feel they need to use him.

A good coach would know the defense THINKS he us our 3rd read and exploit that. Thats what Sean Peyton would do to us all day long

We need to bring in a competent OC, and the pay HD to remain a falcon.

If MM stays, Douglas would be a fool to waste his talents here.

Why people say this is beyond me . Harry Douglas is 4th passing option . There are not enough touches for everyone to be happy . Unless we start taking away balls from Tony G and Roddy . Our GM made the move for Tony G to be Ryan security blanket . If people want to see Harry with 55+ catches we have to move on from Tony G and 2 wr sets go 3 wide and not use a TE

Serious question, did he get one pass thrown to him on Monday night. I honestly dont remember. Can you imagine. The guy was on the field for the entire game and we never found it prudent to make him a target knowing that JJ and RW would be getting lots of attention.

got 1 slant i think. Was maybe for 1 yard gain if i recall right.

I saw HD open a few times in the game but Matt just went to Roddy or Julio. It happens. If you have two supposed studs in Julio and Roddy plus Tony G you're not going to be designing a ton of plays for HD. I think Matt looks for Julio and Roddy first. He doesnt have 4-5 seconds to go through all of his reads and get to HD.

Yep I agree I don't understand why HD is sitting on the first 2 downs.I mean I'd line HD up outside in the slot especially in the no huddle this is the best time to use him in my view he adds more speed to the offense which can only be a bonus.
