JG2008
Its very simple....we have only luke warm medium talent overall on this team and same goes for the coaching and play calling---luke warm.....decent--but not greatthat is why we can beat on average 50% to 65% of the 32 teams out there and our record should be somewhere between 8-8 to 10-6 with this talent---on averagelast year was an aberration in the regular season due to some very lucky calls and abnormal breaks received in 3 to 4 close gameswhen we go up against the top 25% of the league that has superior talent and superior coaching we are going to lose 90+ % of the time which--regardless of whether we are playing at home in the playoffs or on the road we are one and done unless like last year's regular season--we get several very lucky calls and abnormal breaks to overcome our luke warm averagenessUntil we intelligently build this team and get some smarter coaches and playcalling we are going to be what we are---slightly better than average Edited December 28, 2011 by JG2008
NateDogg1215
Average teams dont have 4 winning seasons in a row. Average teams dont go the playoffs 3 out of 4 years. We are not slightly above average, we are a competitive winning team. Hence our overall record since Smith and TD took over.11-59-713-310-6 Edited December 28, 2011 by NateDogg1215
ol'_dirty2
I cant agree with your whole point but I do see where you're coming from. We actually have talent on this team, there just seems to be a flaw in motivation, coaching, playcalling or something that doesn't seem to be able to consistently get the most out of them. I'm not saying fire everybody just make some adjustments...we can win with the guys we have for the most part.
JG2008
like i saidthat is why we can beat on average 50% to 65% of the 32 teams out there and our record should be somewhere between 8-8 to 10-6 with this talent---on averagedead in the middle average is 8-8--we are --as i said Until we intelligently build this team and get some smarter coaches and playcalling we are going to be what we are---slightly better than averageslightly better than average implies just that--winning record but no playoffs to winning season and getting into playoffs but never going anywhere in post season and that is exactly what we have done the last 4 yearsAverage teams dont have 4 winning seasons in a row. Average teams dont go the playoffs 3 out of 4 years.
JG2008
we have some talent at some positions--yes--no doubt---however that talent is completely offset by low grade talent to complete ineptness at many other positions --- so yes some highs and some real lows --add to that --that the team as a whole is getting steered by the wrong play-callers who seem to make the same mistakes over and over again --against high caliber teams--and you get homogenized pasteurized mediocrity---so we don't have GREAT coaching - but only lack a few key players--we have AVERAGE coaching and play callers telling average players (overall) what plays to run. It is what it is--the bad thing about it is that we don't have many draft picks the next 2 years so we better make all those picks we do have really pay off or we are in troubleI cant agree with your whole point but I do see where you're coming from. NateDogg1215
Playoff success? the first time we went Matt was a rookie, 2nd time we got shellshocked by the eventual champs. Give matt another crack and we will not be 1 and done i Guarantee
falken
We have a below average offensive line. Especially in road games they are exposed. If we had a better offensive line Matt Ryan would make Mike Mularkey look like a genius.Complain about coaching all you want. Our Biggest problem is offensive line. Period.
Rajhae Battle
The offense played decent, the poor playcalling in the red zone & the 3rd & 4th down & 1 just didn't make sense, but the offense for the most part was taken out of their game plan. I'm really dissapointed in the defense however. BVG should have came out of that 2 deep soft zone after the 2nd drive up the field (should have never been in it) but i have to call out the players on this one. The coaches can't run out there in tackle somebody, Dunta looked confused & lost on every series, even Abe, got juked by the QB on a sure sack..Yes BVG did not have them in positions to succeed, but he's ran that bad system all year the last thing they should be is confused our defensive personel really let the team down this time. It's always one side or the other, in Houston it was the offense Monday it was the "d" we only got one week to come together fellas

If we have to go back to New Orleans they will just kick the crap out of us again.

Some great talent on this team but it's overshadowed by the horrible play of some guys who should not even be on an NFL gridiron.Franks, Owens, Dunta, Every DE we have, Entire O-line.......these are not just weak spots but entire weak units. For every Roddy White it seems we have two Sam Bakers. Can't win the big one with those glaring holes.
