whitekb011
If you are going to lay an Egg, at least it happened before the playoffs.I am very dissapointed in the Falcons coaches and players, specifically defense. They played the game with no emotion, no sense of urgency, and no heart. My question to the players, how do you have the moral integrity to cash your game check? AB should have stopped all the direct deposits and made each player come to his office to pick up that game check from him personally, including coaches. I know I'm not. This team has yet to demonstrate that they've matured beyond the point of being satisfied just "making the playoffs", as opposed to advancing in the playoffs. I can't find any evidence that any of our prospective opponents would shy away from facing the Falcons in the first round. Nothing about this team right now is intimidating. Borat
Matty Ice was far and away the best player in a Falcons uniform on the field. I was pleased with that.
NateDogg1215
AMEN Borat! Matty Ice was playing great, If not for drop balls (insert RODDY WHITE) and costly holding penaltys on 3rd down we would have done better. The play calling in the redzone was horrible. And Matt deserves some of that blame here too but he was ON for the most part
ol'_dirty2
The only positive in that game was that Matty Ice was far and away the only guy who looked to be in an "elite" state of mind for that game. We did stall drives again with penalties and untimely stupidity, but not because of Ryan. From a defensive perspective...we were quite offensive
freebird310
The only positive is it gives them plenty of motivation for the rematch ..........
Zodiac
Matty Ice was far and away the best player in a Falcons uniform on the field. I was pleased with that.Moore, Grimes, and Julio were doing a **** good job. Especially Moore, if he could've hung on to a couple of those balls I think this game has a completely different outcome. falfan68
Seems very Pollyannish. Falcons have been laying eggs all season getting blown out by decent teams and narrowly winning vs. mediocre ones... and losing to a few too like TB. If AB really intends on bringing the Lombardi Trophy to ATL the status quo staff must go. IF there is something positive about Monday's game then it's that AB has finally had it w/ the coaching staff. Keep Smith another year but the rest must go. ol'_dirty2
The only positive is it gives them plenty of motivation for the rematch ..........Yeah...but what does it do for the stains? That's what I'm concerned about. There was no statement by our team that struck any fear into that team the other night. They ran, they passed, they converted, they kicked, they returned, they stalled us out. What exactly did we do this time to say that we can play with this team. We gave them ammo if anything. dmite
It felt like to me that we were not trying to show too much to them because some of the plays were run exactly the same a few times over the course of the game. I hope that's the case anyways. It might explain why MS appeared pretty calm the entire game (except when the Saints were throwing with 4 minutes left).Though we did come out on the first play and line up Julio and Roddy in the backfield with Turner out wide, which was pretty weird. Falcons Faithful Freak
Moore, Grimes, and Julio were doing a **** good job. Especially Moore, if he could've hung on to a couple of those balls I think this game has a completely different outcome. The officals would have threw a flag for pass interference had he made those catches. We converted a lot of third downs and had them called back for bs calls. I know the we need the bookies on our side if we are to win. PokerSteve
The only positive from Monday night was the game ended after four quarters, thus preventing Brees and the Saints from breaking the 100-point barrier against the patented BVG Blow-Zone defense. nomak
The Falcons didn't lay an egg Monday night........they laid the whole freak'n farm!!! This team has alot, ALOT to prove if they can even get a sniff of a playoff win. I love my Falcons but facts are facts, we struggle with the big boys. If we have to got back to NO in two weeks?????? Good grief I hope not, that place will be crazy. Not scared of the Saints, but facts are facts and based on what we saw Monday night we will have no chance. "Didn't want to show them too much." Well dang, the Saints sure wasn't affraid to show us anything, they manned up and dared us to stop them.......and we couldn't. It almost feels like "wishful thinking" to believe that Smitty & Co were laying a trap for the Taints, for the playoffs. It felt more like we just got outschemed, which is the most frustrating part.
