pzummo
There are so many threads about last night's game, I thought I'd try to get something optimistic out there. Our team is flawed and I do not feel like discussing our problems anymore. It's the holiday season and I needed something positive to talk about, so I'm starting this thread.Matt Ryan played well yesterday. He threw the ball with good velocity. He threw it to where his receivers could catch it. He ended up with good numbers outside of the lack of TD's, but here's where he is now compared to the rest of the league...Passing Yards - 4061 (6th)Passing TD's - 27 (6th)20+ Yard Passes - 53 (9th)40+ Yard Passes - 9 (9th)QB Rating - 90.7 (8th)Career highs in yards, 20+ yard passes, 40+ yard passes, and rushing TD's (2). He's 1 passing TD shy of tying his career high. He's 0.3 points from tying his career best QB Rating as well.

Aftermath
Ryan played good, as for the red zone, I really don't know what he can do about that, I saw a few passing plays in the red zone where we only had two receivers running routes and one play with one receiver. As Jaws mentioned last night, it is hard for teams to pass in the red zone, and our running game has been almost non existent in the red zone all year. Ryan can't make receivers get open or force his line to hold up against a three man rush. Could he have made a play or two? probably, but that would have been risky and as we know this team plays not to lose. Guest Negatorris
Ryan is far from a game manager. Flacco and Smith are game managers.

The one game where we stayed in the no huddle even in the red zone, we dominated.

It's a meaningless game, lets work on the things that are not working. Save the no huddle playbook for the playoffs.

If we beat the Bucs and the Packers beat the Lions, we have the 5th seed.

Sheerz
I could see Ryan growing into a monster if the staff will let him play to his strengths more... Though I was disappointed when he had the chance to step and rush for a first down in the red zone but he freaked out and went crazy legs... but hey, the game was pretty much in suck mode at that point anyways... Though I was disappointed when he had the chance to step and rush for a first down in the red zone but he freaked out and went crazy legs... but hey, the game was pretty much in suck mode at that point anyways...Every so often we are fortunate to witness greatness between coach and quarterback:Lombardi / StarrLandry / StaubachShula / Griese & MarinoWalsh / MontanaJohnson / AikmanBelichick / BradyPeyton / BreesMcCarthy / RodgersI hope Matt Ryan's career isn't absent this opportunity as I think he could be elite too if paired with an elite offensive coaching staff. He's pretty good as is!

Save the no huddle playbook for the playoffs.I would like to see us personally dial up a huge bunch of blitz packages. Also we got to get Turner and this ground attack back on track also I think thats a big must for us going foward we have to have balance. pzummo
More positives to keep us looking up.Julio moved up to #2 in rookie receiving yards. He now has 883 and is only 117 receiving yards away from a 1000 yard season. Two 1000 yard recievers is a strong possibility with a home game vs TB this week. pzummo
Roddy White is 4 catches and 73 yards away from having consecutive 100 catch 1300 yard seasons. He's also 2 TD's away from having consecutive 10 TD catch seasons as well.

pzummo
Gonzalez already tied his career high as a Falcon with 867 yards and beat his TD mark by catching 7. With 5 more catches, he'll have his Falcon career high with 84. 133 yards for Gonzo and 117 for Julio equals 3 players with 1000 yards recieving.I say we pull a NO's and feature these 2 guys in the last game. 133 for Gonzo might be tough, but it's doable at home against a TB team that is struggling to stop anyone. pzummo
Michael Turner is 1 TD away from having 4 consecutive 10 TD seasons. He's also 132 yards away from consecutive 1300 yard seasons.I say get him a TD and let him rest up for the playoffs.
