sourdiesal
Dude, get over it. If you watched the game, which I doubt, there's no way you could think Ryan was the problem. He completed over 70% of his passes and put the ball where it needed to be. He averaged over 7 yards per attempt, and 11 yards per completion.Protection was horrendous. Clabo must've drank too much eggnog or something. Our drives were killed by penalties, drops, and our inability to keep Ryan clean or open up holes for Turner. Those elite WR's you mentioned had bad games. Roddy had another drop. Julio had the fumble returned for a TD. Ryan did not turn the ball over on 52 pass attempts under a ridiculous amount of duress. I think he actually played better than Brees. The difference was that NO's was able to run the ball. They had 164 yards rushing on only 23 attempts, which is over 7 yards per carry. We had 14 carries for 35 yards...
pzummo
Brees threw 2 picks and completed only 59% of his passes for 307 yards. Ryan didn't turn the ball over and completed over 70% of his passes for 373 yards. Considering the fact that Brees was playing from a clean pocket while Ryan was playing under duress for most of the game, yeah, I'd say Ryan actually played better in THIS game. The Saints OL outplayed our DL. The Saints DL outplayed our OL. If you want to point to areas where NO outplayed us, there were many of them. QB play was not one of them. Club212
I'll take Matts stats very week, BUT, with eleven days off to prepare for this game, look at the "D", giving up over 300 yds BEFORE the half! 3rd down efficiency was at one point 8/8 or 9/9, thats unwatchable, BVCluless on the sidelines with the "I just don't know look" PRICELESS! blackredfellow
I honestly cant believe we are having this conversation right now. If you think Matt Ryan played a bad game yesterday, you really don't understand football. He was getting pressured all game, but staying tough and delivering the ball. I cant believe some people criticize Matt for checking down. I suppose he should just be like Joey Harrington and stand there and take the sack. I suppose the holding calls are because he held on to the ball too long, gave the line too much time to try to block.
Falcons_own_nfc_south
This team is not build to win "shootout" because our OC and DC isn't known for adjustment. If we get TD on no-huddle.. this team would go back to MM and he would run some play out of his arse and everyone would scratch their head.Defensive scheme .. I am not sure what to say.. All I want to know.. why haven't we run last year MNF defensive scheme again...Was it just one time try or something?
falconut-1991
You can't hang this game on him. Not stopping the Saints on D was the real issue. Just like last years playoff loss to GB. If you can't force them off the field until they score, then you're just not going to win.Last time I checked, Matt Ryan doesn't play or coach the defense. BVG's system needs to be replaced with a real system. When will the front office see this? Two big time beat downs on the lame system. Please bring in a REAL DC in the offseason.
