Well Its Now All On Matt Ryan!

I think even though he threw for 370+ yards he has to put the ball in the endszone! And now Its all going to come down to one game for him in two weeks. And I love how Jaws said Matt has to win a playoff game now and I can't agree more so now it all on Matt Ryan. But all in all its a good thing because if we lose that game the coaching staff will not likely say intacked which in my opinion is the problem. How do you lose another game to the saints and this time we had more yards and less turnover and won the time of possion battle as well? Falcons Redzone 0-3 (Saints 4-6 in the redzone) thats unexceptable when you have the weapons we have. But at the end of the day is it Matt Ryan the Coaching staff or not enough talent? In my opinion its a little Matt Ryan and a lot of the coaching staff who just don't play an agressive enough style! I'm so pi$$ed that I don't even want to watch a replay of these teams again in two weeks! About the only thing we have going is its very very difficult to beat someone three times in a row no matter were the game is played.

I can agree with that but at the end of the day you got to get it in the endszone when your in the redzone and that starts with Matt he has to get Tds and not FG's we left 28 points out there ad that to 16points and we get 44points My bad got to minus 9 points for the FG's but 35 points to the saints 38 points by there offense makes for a much closer game and a chance to win.

I'll be honest, I usually think it's on Ryan for not making plays (ie: really early in Houston killed us), but I think he played outstanding football today. He was working with an awful O-Line but stepping up into the pocket, he looked mobile, and he had several absolute DARTS that went 20-30 yards downfield with considerable zip. Ryan's not to blame...his receivers and the Falcons D are.

Jesus, the Falcons D...

I felt like Ryan played good.... The Oline and this pick me apart zone Defense is hurting us

We need pieces on D but i think its more about how passive the scheme we are playing is... We have to get a more aggressive style..

WIth the O-lIne i dont know what happen.. An UDFA DE was beating our probowl RT

When they rushed 3 Matt had to scramble, their defense was solid today and he still posted 65% completion and over 370 yards. We were in the redzone 3 times even with the year of the touchback still going strong. Credit when it's due to their defence, they stepped up when it counted..... plus you have to factor in the penalties and our own D

Ryan was Ryan. He won't win you a game or lose you the game. It's clear we need to get an elite defense and running game. We need Ovie. We need a top tier back. We need Ray Lewis, Julius Peppers, and Revis on defense.

What more could Ryan who is Ryan have done tonight with the drive killing penalties inside the 30?

Ryan isnt the elite type QB that can overcome a poor defense and lack of running game. We were down 20 in the 4th quarter and he was still checking down to the TE's..It's not his fault we lost (the defense is obviously pathetic) But players like Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Manning can still put up points and win despite their defense. Tom Brady doesn't throw the ball 52 times without getting into the endzone multiple times in a game like last night. We need to build this team around defense and a strong running game instead of trying to add deep threats that are never gonna be used properly. An elite QB loses that game 45-38 lastnight and cusses out his defensive coordinator...Matt isn't that guy..

The defense isn't poor. They just aren't talented. This is what happens when the offense can't produce TD's and the DL's can get pressure on the QB. Atlanta has a major lack of playmakers on defense which you knew would bite them in the butt v. very good to elite QB's. Ovie is the most important player on our offense. Without him, our running game looks like ****. With him, at the worst our running game is average, at best it's elite.

The problem with Ryan is he has an elite WR core. He could have a very good running core if Ovie was healthy. Now he needs an elite defense. Face the facts, the guy just isn't that good. Guys like Rodgers need far less to be a contender. Ryan needs too much. It's not easy to get defensive playmakers. How many have we had in the last 40 years? Deion?

Despite what we saw I am inspired by my Falcons team because I realized that I support a team that will not back down just because analysts say that they are a run first team and as long as they run the ball they will win. They have continued to stick with their guns to give Matt control of this team depsite what the stat may show when Matt passes the ball a lot they have lost and we can say what we will but sneakingly it is working.Despite last nights loss some things happened in a positive light.#1 they got flashes of the old Brees to show up last night with throwing picks. With four possible picks the Falcons did get two but the offense was not able to capitalize on the turnovers.# 2 Matt can throw as much as needed as it wasn't him that quit last night his team quit on him as he threw for 373 with a TD and is over the 4000 mark and will tie his season high of 28 TDs or break it in the next game against the Bucs.#3 This team has been producing explosive plays which despite that loss has them now in the top 10 in total offense and # 7 in passing and receiving so despite the drops that is huge. Their O-line is ranked #6 overall yes despite their ragged start guys oh and did I mention the Matt ranks 7th among QBs.The problem with the Falcons has been the penalties that have hurt them but I would not go to sleep on our Birds just yet because while people and analysts are looking on the surface of what bad the Falcons have done in the regular season I see a Lazarus coming out of the grave during the playoff time as it is considered 0-0 in the playoffs which gives the Falcons a clean slat which means 0 in penalties & turnovers. and so I'm still going to keep my eyes open. it does not matter how you get to the dance you just have to get there and they did with great help.So let NO celebrate they were clearly the better regular season team and I give them that but the jury is still out on them in the playoffs despite them being at home. And you don't have to have a great defense to make the superbowl in the Nfc because truth be told the Falcons ,detroit and the 49ers are the only three good defenses going into the playoffs with the 49ers leading those three.Which ever team is the must opportunistic on defense will win and right now the packers lead that.

I wouldnt say he's not good...It's not like he's Rex Grossman..He just isn't a game changer..Dare I say he's more of a game manager...He needs Turner to run for 100 yards consistently and the defense to be top 10 for him to win (especially on the road)

And Michael Turner is Downey soft...He tip toes through the hole like he weighs 190 lbs..It sucks.. I feel like the Hawks, Braves and Falcons are all in sports purgatory.. Not crappy enough to rebuild with young dynamic talent and not elite enough to win any big games...Just blah....

He's good. Not that good.

Ovie is a game changer for the running game. There are 10-20 RB's who would run over 1k with Ovie blocking.

Atlanta Hawks might have a chance if they trade some of their pieces to land D12.

Falcons might have a chance if they would trade Ryan for RGIII or Luck.

Braves need an elite impact offensive player or have Heyward come around and play at that level. He is the difference between playoff fodder or WS contenders.

Yeah, Matt gets part of the blame, he is the QB and it comes with the territory. I will agree that the offense is not aggressive enough. There was a series where we passed on 1st for about 6 yards, then got into a run formation (I’m screaming don’t hand that ball off) and Turner gets it for no/negative yards. There is a 3rd down pass that goes incomplete and yet another field goal attempt.

Too many times the Falcons try to be balanced and hang their hat on Turner and the run game and it ends up hurting them. The passing game was on fire last night, but when we needed it most there were terrible calls. Late in the game when we were 4th and goal from like the 13, why did Roddy run a come-back route to gain 5 yards? Really, is that all the OC has? Can we not throw it in the end zone? How many RAC yards does Roddy have? According to ESPN, Roddy is 33rd in the NFL in YAC for RB’s, TE’s, and WR’s. It just proves my point that it was a stupid call. Offensively the Falcons didn’t do enough with the ball in Saints territory. They need to be more creative. If anybody is going to take a short pass an additional 10 yards into the end zone it’s going to be Julio, not Roddy. The safest bet is to throw it into the end zone.

Dude, get over it. If you watched the game, which I doubt, there's no way you could think Ryan was the problem. He completed over 70% of his passes and put the ball where it needed to be. He averaged over 7 yards per attempt, and 11 yards per completion.

Protection was horrendous. Clabo must've drank too much eggnog or something. Our drives were killed by penalties, drops, and our inability to keep Ryan clean or open up holes for Turner.

Those elite WR's you mentioned had bad games. Roddy had another drop. Julio had the fumble returned for a TD. Ryan did not turn the ball over on 52 pass attempts under a ridiculous amount of duress. I think he actually played better than Brees.

The difference was that NO's was able to run the ball. They had 164 yards rushing on only 23 attempts, which is over 7 yards per carry. We had 14 carries for 35 yards...
