What Happened To Our Run Defense?!

This was the biggest mistake we made... I heard Gruden say that our Coaches felt like we need to really focus on the pass and hope that our front guys can handle the run....

If you dont atleast shutdown the run game of the saints.. You have no chance at stopping them... They will get passing yards regardless.... You must not let them run the ball tho

The Saints' RBs are not scrubs. They are the 7th best team in the NFL at running the football. That's one of the things that makes their passing game so lethal.

When the last time either of their "monster 4" headed attack ever had a 1,000 rusher? I'm sure they never been close to 900 maybe 750?

I understand your question, but your implication is baseless! Just because none of their backs gets close to 1000 yards doesn't mean they are scrubs. I will bet if you look at their yards per carry, that it is very good. They just don't get that many total carries.

It's just that they use RB by committee, and don't have a featured RB like the Falcons have with Turner; or the Vikes have with AP, etc. If you can't understand the difference between RB by committee and being scrubs, there is something wrong with your logic. They use RB by committee on purpose, to keep all their players happy and healthy.

You can't judge a team's running game, or the quality of their RBs, by whether or not they rush for 100 yards. We know the Saints use RB by committee, unlike the Falcons with Michael Turner, or the Vikings with Adrian Peterson. You judge by yards per carry. For instance, Darren Sproles has 563 yards rushing this season, with a 7.0 yard per carry average. That's very good. Pierre Thomas has 532 yards rushing, with a 5.1 yard per carry average.

Your attempt to equate 1000 yards with good RBs does not hold water for a RB by committee team (does not use a feature back).

These Aints RB scrubs are running all over us!

It might not be your defense. For comparison sake

Saints thru 14 games 1755 4.7 per carry

Falcons 1548 3.9 per carry

The passing game certainly helps but, I think you may be being a little too hard on your run defense and may be underestimating the Saints RBs.

The BS with coaching staff... We pay attention on one thing and other team comes with different plan... I heard the same ####### when GB blew us off in the playoff.. oh we tried to contain Rodgers...

10 days to prepare and that's how we do it.. I think this staff needs less time to prepare so they dont' think too much..
